I wish McFarlane would give this up and let Marvel own all of the rights to it.

Btw, I have mixed feelings on Marvel owning these rights. It would be cool to see new stories published...but can they possibly pull it off or will they ruin the character?

most likely will never see the light of day again...like so many other titles/characters that they "own"

I think it's too big a property to ignore. But I do envision a botched, yet high selling mediocre series - seriously, how can they compete w/the original?

I would be happy if they just reprinted Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman's runs and then let Gaiman finish his trilogy. After that I don't care what Marvel does with the character.

so if they do put Marvelman into the Marvel Universe how do you think they will do it?

and will they give him a whole new origin or just stick with the original origin? maybe work the alan moore stories into it?

Like some of the others in this thread, all I'm wanting out of Miracleman is a reprinting of the Alan Moore & Neil Gaiman stories, preferably in hardcover (Perhaps even omnibus) format.

I won't be interested in any new stories, aside from a completion of Gaiman's trilogy.

I could not agree more, the character would have been better suited as a Veritgo book than being in the Marvel universe. The plus side is Gaiman has been doing work for Marvel so maybe he would finish his run.

I want Gaiman to finish his story. I would love to see a Marvelman vs. Captain Britian one-shot or mini-series by Alan Davies though. :cloud9:

They're reprinting the old series starting in January if I understand it correctly.

I'd totally love to see them have someone re-draw the issues Chuck Austen did. Those were some of the most godawful terribly drawn comic books I have ever seen.

I always that that Marvel killed the Sentry so Miracleman/Marvelman could replace him in the normal continuity.
