Paid $100 to Valiant. Funny considering I get the non-signed ones for $20 (cost from Diamond) but it's X-O so, why not.

I am planning to auction off the X-O #1 with signatures that I get with some extra cool stuff (you will know soon what it is) when I get it, for Kevin's charity. I don't collect comics, even really cool signed ones, so this will be a nice piece that will go to someone who could not afford the hardcover, and will help a good cause.

I stopped collecting single issue comics the day I opened the store in 94. My collection prior to that became part of the store. I don't compete with my customers

This is a topic that I often discuss with my LCS owner. The only thing he keeps, as far as comics, is his Daredevil run. His favorite. He sold three in the 1-10 range, and regretted it. Then took him another decade to see them again. He has some original art and commissions, but outside of DD, all is for sale.

That's kind of what I do also. I collect Hardcovers of things i REALLY like, which is a lot of hardcovers over the years, I started in 94 when we opened the store. And I collect original art, mostly X-O and Solar covers and commissions.

It is really counter productive to collect comics when you are always around them, and can read at any time. I still take 20-30 comics home per week and read to keep up on everything, i just don't put them away into my own boxes after I am done.

Pre-orders, so it would appear that he/she has bought (or will aquire) 2 copies, and then fill those orders while turning a 200% profit. Certainly one way to do it.

Not surprised for people to capitalize on this. When you go to a convention, you need to pay for your costs to get access to these books. (Parking / Gas, Taxi, Air Fare, Hotel and not including the tickets to the convention itself)

That being said, I would not be surprised if anyone participates in the offer and later on selling it for $.

Other than the secondary market, there really isn't any other way to get the A&A Variant and the Signed Numbered to 500 X-O Hard Cover. Plus you can only get the first Valiant Fans Validated Signature Series (VEI).

Also, our offer here is valid to Valiant Fan members only. (not to the public)

I was waiting to see if I won some ASM auctions before I committed to my purchase. I lost my auctions, so I fired up Paypal and started to both for both the A&A and the X-O HC, but I canceled it at the last moment. I still think I'm going for it, but it is a difficult decision. I think the VfVSS is pushing me over the fence, though - that's pretty awesome.
