The big name artists that were at VALIANT at the time BWS, Layton, etc, mostly worked in a mentoring mode for the young talent that was learning at the time like David Lapham. Even by the standards of the early 90's, in most cases VALIANT was a readers book. Of course there were exceptions like the BWS covers, but the block panel layout was all Shooter wanted at that time.

Dinesh and company have told their new stories with not only great writing, but up to date modern style artwork. Are there some things and storylines I don't care for? Sure, but I am really happy for the most part and find the creativity and quality of storytelling being put out by VEI to be exceptional.

Not much to add except "Agreed.". :)
I'm glad you've been converted from a "doubter" to a "believer";)

I think I need to correct you: 'from a "serious doubter" to a "believer"'. :D

Now this may be contentious, but the mess with Shooter may prove the best thing that could ever have happened to VEI, albeit in a painful way, that fulled concerns of myself and others at the time.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

I find Valiant different from other publishers because of the way they can tell a story versus the garbage the "big 2" have been publishing for the past several years, it seems that Valiant generally wants you to enjoy their product instead of just trying to sell you 20 comics based on one character month after month. Their business ethics are far superior too and their internal management team really knows what they're doing. All in all I find Valiant very different than most of the other comic book publishers out there and I've been on board since day 1 of the May launch last year and will continue to support them.
