Re: What comics are you reading now?
I've been reading a ton of trade paperbacks, courtesy of my local library. Essential The Amazing Spider-Man volumes 10 and 11; Classic G.I. Joe volumes 1, 2, 3, and 5; Tarzan: The Jesse Marsh Years volume 2; Jon Sable, Freelance volume 1; and The Rocketeer: The Complete Adventures. Up next is The Contract With God Trilogy.

I just read Jennifer Blood vol. 3: Neither Tarnished Nor Afraid TPB damn what a great read this book would make one of hell of a great HBO or Showtime TV show.
The Transformers: Prime-Rage of the Dinobots #1-4 a fun mini-series if you have played The Transformers: Fall of Cybertron video game and watch The Transformers: Prime TV show it serves as a bridge between those two stories, if you haven't then this series is a bit confusing.

God I love Demo. My first introduction to the art of Becky Cloonan and pretty much the graphic novel that reignited my passion for indie superhero comics.erwinrafael wrote:The real Brian Wood gems are Pounded and Demo.caxiotis wrote:Well Brian Wood finally did it. He put out a book that I actually like and enjoyed reading. I tried DMZ, Northlanders, The Massive and Star Wars and did not like any of them. I just read the first 13 issues of Conan the Barbarian and really enjoyed the read. The first 6 issues are superb (4.5/5), the next 7-9 are just okay (2/5) (story was weak and the art in issues 8-9 by Vasilis Losos is not good), 10-12 are really good (3.5/5), and 13 has got me curious to how is going to end this new story arc. I am honestly surprised that I like this book.I also loved Fight For Tomorrow but I am in the minority as a lot of people found it so-so.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Just finished the last Remender Uncanny X-Force tpb that ended the series. This was one of my favorite comics when it started out, but the last storyarc wasn't that good.
I also am on a Batman kick right now and just finished reading Batman Year One and Two and currently reading Robin Year One. I remember reading Batman Year Two when I was younger and thought it was cool, but reading it now I just see a lot of flaws in it. It's not that good of a book

One of these days I need to get caught up on Invincible. I dropped out about 10 or so issues after they introduced Kid Omni-Man. Man I was HOOKED on that book for a while.Elveen wrote:I'm reading Invincible 80-89 for the 1st time.

Invincible 101. This was mainly a set up issue with lots of things on the horizon in the future. The Thragg pages were awesome.

X-Factor vol. 19: Short Stories TPB (aka X-Factor #246-#249) The best book that Marvel puts out. If all the X-Titles were this great I would buy them.
Up next: a whole bunch of books.

Uncanny Avengers is my least favorite Avengers book right now. It's very disappointing. Before the 1st issue came out I was really looking forward to this book but not now.Cyberstrike wrote:Just read Saga #9 & #10, Rachel Rising #13, The Uncanny Avengers #2-4, and The Indestructible Hulk #2

Just cannonballed my way through New Avengers V3 1-4. Solid story, I am definitely intrigued. Who doesn't love some Infinity Gems goodness?

Re: What comics are you reading now?
The only reason I bought it was for John Cassaday's artwork. I thought the story was OK but nothing special. Since he's leaving it so am I.Lightning Strike wrote:Uncanny Avengers is my least favorite Avengers book right now. It's very disappointing. Re: What comics are you reading now?
I would highly recommend The Transformers: Robots In Disguise it's The Transformers mixed with a lot of Deadwood and features a lot of well known characters Bumblebee, Prowl, Ironhide, Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave in a post-war Cybertron.Chiclo wrote:Our comic tastes are so similar. A lot of hardcore Transfans love and rave about The Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye it features more second string and comic only characters Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Drift, Cyclonus, Ratchet, Rung, and Overlord it's a great read, if you willing to read an almost Autobot centric series and put up with a LOT of universe building there is only one Decepticon in the series and that is Overlord (in the IDW G1 Universe Cyclonus is not a Decepticon he's technically a NAIL a neutral character).

For sure, I love that he is losing control of 'his' viltrumites. I wish Guardians of the Globe was better, it'd be nice to see a Viltrumite join that team.400yrs wrote:Invincible 101. This was mainly a set up issue with lots of things on the horizon in the future. The Thragg pages were awesome.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Just finished Batgirl Year One. What an awesome read! Marcos Martin is one of the most underrated artist in the biz. The story was fantastic, the characters were spot on and it focused on Batgirl, with just enough of a sprinkling of Batman to wet your appetite, but not overwhelming. A very fun and awesome read. Can't recommend it enough.
