Thoughts on Phil Seleski and Erica Pierce
While there are mixed feelings on whether or not Solar is needed or even wanted in the new VEI Universe, that isn't what I want to discuss. Also, while Mothergod would be a big baddy for the universe (and I'm all for it), that also is not what I want to discuss.
I would like to see Phil Seleski and Erica Pierce appear in the books. Before they became omnipotent beings, they were scientists. In this capacity, I think there is a definite place for them in the VEI Universe. After all, no nuclear plant meltdown equals Phil and Erica continued on with their normal lives, albeit tragic for Erica. Sure it may feel like the characters are cheapened; reduced to supporting characters since they would be human (at first anyway) but I think that the talented writers would be able to transform them into new fan favorites. Phil and Erica could have worked with Quantum and Woodys dad or they work for one of Harada's companies. There are certainly ways to introduce them, use them, grow them, and transform them.
Thoughts?

I'm sure we will see them when the Universe is ready. There's so much else coming that they are probably not even on the radar yet.
It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

I'm sure we will see them down the road. Two good properties on their hands for sure.

I have always argued that even if there can't be a Solar characters, there could be a Mothergod character (good or evil).

Re: Thoughts on Phil Seleski and Erica Pierce
I think its just a matter of the packaging. The characters are great, and they are there for VEI to use. But if you put them in a book, what do you call it? I don't think "Phil Seleski: Guy of Psysics" will sell many copies...though it could make for a good PBS series
I've thought that The Visitor could be a good alter ego for Phil. Since the idea of his Solar persona in VH1 came from reading the comics as a kid, a caped superhero-type like The Visitor could make a good stand in. Or maybe he becomes "Doctor Tomorrow"? That's another IP available. Either way he could travel back in time to prevent himself or Erica or Sting from destroying the universe...Just thinking out loud (or in print

Just having them show up could be so cool as a "tease". When is something gonna happen? Even if nothing does.
Wherever Dr Mirage works they could both work. They should all work at Edgewater.

This is exactly what I was getting at. I would just like to see them in the book. It would further serve to illustrate the Road not Travelled and these two personify that point perfectly.dave wrote:Just having them show up could be so cool as a "tease". I like the idea of using Phil Seleski and Erica Pierce as scientists for awhile.Give them a chance to be humans without powers. Then (if they got powers) what about if this time they made Phil as a villain and Erica as a hero.Would be pretty interesting to see.
If I just can't be me ,and the Arrow isn't enough.. then maybe I should be Ra's al Ghul

What if they were married and had a kid named Albert? What if Phil was abusive? Or if there were hints that he might be...you could do some freaky stuff...

Re: Thoughts on Phil Seleski and Erica Pierce
I've wanted Erica Pierce to come back for a very long time, I met Bugsy over at CBR talking about it and that lead me over here. My avatar at CBR is still Erica Pierce and was for a long time here as well.
I think it was one of the first things I posted when joined VFans.
I also like the idea of her returning as more of a hero than villain this time.
