So according to wiki the armories were created in x-o #25 because they believed aric a threat..... My question is well we see a relaunch off this after unity or will they show up like hard corps did in harbinger wars #3?

People have told me I have arms like a Mary but I think it's Armorines

Alexander, Ninjak, Neville and the Armorines (made from Vine Commando bits left over from Aric's battle) could that be the UK's response to the Valiant U? I would like to see that 8-)

Imagine Ninjak and Armorines vs. Bloodshot and HARD Corps :o

That would be awesome sauce spread on sweet toast :cloud9:

V-ditti left a gigantic opening for the Armorines to come right through in the prelude to Planet Death. He introduced the Vine Commando warriors who use a suit of armor that the wearer puts on like any other suit (unlike the Shanhara armor that installs itself around the wearer). These commandos then were killed and their corpses were left on the ground, with advanced tech ready to be scavenged by whomever happened past.

Furthermore, in X-O 14, they mention that other countries have sent expeditions into the ring of debris left behind by the destroyed vine ships looking for advanced tech.

Armorines would be the next logical progression. Perhaps it will be an international unit this time around. Countries banding together to confront and defend against the new superpowered menaces.

I think the ring of debris is one of the most brilliant original concepts in the new Valiant universe. That's the kind of stuff I think VH1 did so well -- brilliant concepts. There is so much that could come out of that. I never read Armorines, so didn't realize they were a response to XO. It would make a lot of sense for them to come out of Unity. Hard Corps vs. Armorines would definitely be epic.

What to?

If there is nothing better, at least Armorines has stood the test of a few iterations, plus it is already trademarked by VEI which makes sense to use. :)

I like the the multinational idea, and the use of Vine technology, and think that would be a neat way to dovetail various concepts - kudos to Bugsysig and Chiclo. :thumb:

After the bloodthirsty introduction of HARD Corps, maybe some light to their shade would be a nice counterpoint from a new Armories unit.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Armorines, believe it or not, has some brand recognition. Acclaim had an Armorines game that many people played (along with Shadowman)...though I prefer the name "Secret Weapons" overall. Of course the second iteration of Secret Weapons back in VH1 were basically Armorines, so that could work.

I'd have to go back and read this again, but if it says "other countries have sent expeditions into the ring of debris" rather than a multi-national group going in, it seems like a better setup to different countries developing their own battlesuits based on what can be salvaged and retro-engineered. This, I think, would be far more interesting (multiple countries with different versions of armor, since not all of the debris is going to be of equal R&D value), and much closer, I think to what would happen in the real world. Once an extraterrestrial threat is dealt with, it seems far more likely that countries would look for an advantage over their rivals with what's left behind than band together. It may not be the sensible course of action, knowing there could be other threats out there, but unfortunately I think that's what the military reaction would be.

Unfortunately, it is. Armaries are the females. Armories are the males. It's the way that VEI is bringing the spider aliens back. Lydia will be returning as the Grand High Armarie. There was a preview that Bugsy posted last week sometime.

It's too bad the Armorines game didn't live up to expectations like Shadowman did. I enjoyed the concept, but there just wasn't much depth or innovative weapons. After seeing what they did with Turok, the game could have been awesome.

Bugsy just isn't going to be completely 100% happy until he gets his 'Secret Weapons' title. Bring it VEI! :D

If this unit or force is multi-national, I'd rather see one suit for one country instead of an entire army. It's alien tech, it's from a debris field, some amount of retro-engineering and tinkering involved, so I don't see how any mass-production of these units would be possible.

But I would be all for such a title.

I've said it before - I'd support a really good re-imagined Armorines book, I think there is a place for it. A unit of soldiers decked out in retro-engineered alien tech does not mean the book needs to interact with the other Valiant superheroes too much to be good either, IMO.

Also, keep in mind there are still some Vine plantings on earth... I'm sure some of them would know enough about it to be willing and able to get involved in producing the tech... Any who did would stand to make a huge profit from it...
