Quantum & Woody Blues
So I really really wanted to read this issue, but I started a new job which made me miss my normal comic shop time. (Old Job I had Wednesdays off, so I had first dibs on new issues). So I went to my Comic Shop, and they were all sold out
. I traveled/called all other comic shops, they said they were sold out. I am not angry just bummed out/disappointed.
This is the first Valiant issue that I had trouble finding. There is good news though! Could Valiant finally break the top 100 book sales? Or is this wishful thinking? I am hoping we break through the top 100 and break the dominance of a Marvel/DC dominance of the comic book market.
If so High-Fives for everyone here at Valiant and Valiant Fan.
So High-Ho High-Ho Off to eBay I go.
But on a scale 1-10 How Awesome is it? I heard good things, even friends whom wouldn't touch Valiant with a ten foot pole prior Quantum and Woody, picked it up, and enjoyed it.

There's this thing now called the Internet where you can purchase and read your comics on your "computer" if you can't get one made from trees.

Can you not afford an extra 4 bucks to own both? Not to sound like a *SQUEE* but if you got the quantum as woody blues why would you not alleviate that by reading it? When I can't wait or get ohyscial copy for something for whatever reason I will do this.CylonSteve wrote:Yeah, I know, but I'd but I prefer the copy of the issue.BugsySig wrote:There's this thing now called the Internet where you can purchase and read your comics on your "computer" if you can't get one made from trees.

I find this to have been a useful report on the availability of Quantum and Woody, and would like to hear more reports such as this one on it.

Nothing can really compare to holding the actual issue in your hands.

I love digital everything, but the connection of a physical item (that engages all the senses, not just sight) can never be replaced with digital media. Each has its merits.
Your statement makes no sense. Digital media is the pinnacle of consumerism. Infinite ability of a company to sell media with virtually no cost (when compared to physical media), especially when 99% of the time you own nothing but a revocable license to use the media on the company's terms, is a "capitalist's wet dream".

I agree. Although I've had a Nook for years, I read real books a heck of a lot more often than ebooks. Well, to be honest, I'd prefer to buy the issue, rather than downloading it. Comixology is fine, but doing it for free hurts the comic industry as a whole.CallMeBloodshot wrote:Ah the essence of consumerism. If comics aren't making money then they are no longer produced. This is one of my all time favorite form of media. I mean I'd hate to see talented writers and artists like Josh Dysart or Patrick Zircher out of work. Sure there are some comics I enjoy online for free (cyanide and happiness, penny arcade, etc.),these are only avaliable online. But I'd hate to see Companies like Valiant go under.
my two cents.

Did you mean consistently? All of the number 1 issues did break the top 100 except Archer and Armstrong(108), X-O debuted at 43.CylonSteve wrote:Could Valiant finally break the top 100 book sales?
A+A would have normally made it by the print numbers, but August was an insane month for Marvel and DC shipping (by current standards) astronomical numbers and multiple issue numbers of some of the same titles within the same reporting period.

One word: Avengers. They literally shipped 3 issues in one month. Two issues were released a week apart. I actually asked my LCS if they were the same book.

Having said that, I'd love if Valiant comics could come out bi-weekly on a regular basis!

While it sounds great in theory, I can guarantee you quality would begin to suffer (especially the art) if they tried to go bi-weekly. So I would lean towards quality over frequency if I had to choose.Shadowman99 wrote:Wow, that's a bit out of the ordinary :Slorddunlow wrote:Aram wrote:Did you mean consistently?
