Classic Issues
I'm putting this here as it may contain spoliers (as I hope to update as new issues come out each month).
I wanted to forumlate a list of the Valiant issues that could be dubbed 'classic' - those issues which are perfect for one or many reasons which still hold up now with new stories/linked series.
Note: I havent read all of Harbinger or A&A so please add some of those to this continuation of Valiant classics (relaunch only).
My initial list - without having my collection in front of me would be this:
Bloodshot #1 - a well written introduction to Bloodshot which provided a glimpse at whats to come in Harbinger Wars. The art was near perfect, the story tightly plotted, the theme really set the tone for the series as it stands today.
Shadowman #0 - Master Darque is a fantastic character who deserves his own title. Here we get a glimpse at what a Master Darque series may have looked like. The art is moody, the writing is fantastic and well paced. This is what all Valiant fans were hoping for with Shadowman (watch this space for Shadowman #10 to be an automatic selection for this list)
Harbinger Wars #4 - so many plot threads span out of this. So many characters died while others look to be given greater profile in the Valiant U (Major Palmer, Hive, Stronghold, Cronus etc.). This will be the title that spawns a new focus for the Valiant U
Archer & Armstrong #10 - Mary-Maria! She's back! This links PRS so well and marks the return to the Faraway. So many mindblowing parts to this issue I cant list them all. I've read this time and time again and will continue to keep going back to it. Great issue.
Quantum & Woody #1 - perhaps the best #1 I've read (I've read them all of the relaunch). A lot of character development, a nice mix of humour and seriousness. A few subtle nods towards linkages with other series. Overall this felt like a really complete issue. Certainly has me wanting more.
What does everyone else think? This thread isnt for the best comics to date (as there would be loads of them to place on here) - moreso to list and define what makes certain issues out right classics and their importance on the greater Valiant Universe.

I like your list and I would add:
A&A #0 (intro of the Faraway, history of the Anni-Padda, amazing Clayton Henry art) and #4 (reveal of Ivar, death of a Geomancer, Mary-Maria receives powers)
Harbinger #5 (Pete and Harada throw down), #6 (Kris issue) and #9 (Faith issue)
Shadowman #5 (best regular issue to date, still had Zircher on art along with De La Torre's first Deadside scenes)

Re: Classic Issues
Quantum & Woody #1 of course, but you're a smart lad and already have it there
My additions:
-Harbinger #5 (just a solid conclusion to the first arc)
-Harbinger #9 (Faith's issue)
-X-O Manowar #1 (great introduction and Cary Nord's art is ridiculous)
-X-O Manowar #14 (big change to the status quo and classic Cary Nord)
-Harbinger Wars as a whole (introduces Gen Zero psiots and HARD Corps)
The only great Shadowman is #0 and I don't read A&A.

I don't mean to come across as a jerk, but why don't you just start a blog? or better yet youtube, vlog.
What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

Re: Classic Issues
I presume this is directed at me - have thought of it but my internet trolling has found this to be THE place to dissect and discuss all things Valiant. I just want to share my thoughts with my fellow Valiant fans rather than creating a new space to air these things where the interaction is likely to be very limited.Zaphod wrote:I don't mean to come across as a jerk, but why don't you just start a blog? or better yet youtube, vlog.

With only 50-60 issues in the library, is it possibly arguably too soon to claim which are classics?

Having read it multiple times - I'm thinking Shadowman #1 should be among this list. I remember the first time I read and was blown away. It felt very much like a complete issue with great characterisation and an interesting plot which hooked me from the opening page.
