Harbinger Wars #4 Discussion
Holy *SQUEE* this issue was epic and brutal
At least 2 Gen Zero kids, Clem, Shakespeare and Hammerhead all bought it and in crazy ways!
Not only did it wrap up the war, it set up tons of storylines for the future: Cronus at the Harbinger Foundation, Hive going crazy in the "Which Tunnels", the fate of Faith and Bloodshot, is Isaiah alive, what will become of Maniac and Gunslinger, Kozol in charge of PRS...
Torque taking out Clem was awesome...Charlene stepped up big...Pete kicked some *SQUEE*...looking forward to Harby and BS next week!

Re: Harbinger Wars #4 Discussion
wow .. just finished reading this.
Absolutely brutal.
Action Packed but with some brilliant writing, dialogue, interesting twists and lots open ended plot points to ponder including the fate of faith...!!
I know this is what many have been dreading!
Interesting that Harada has been the one blocking the signal to detonate the bombs in the Psiot childrens head. Really cool twist that Toyo, stronghold and ion decimated PRS and left HARD Corps without Lifeline.
Shakespeare killing a little girl was very brutal .. any positive feeling I had for him went out the window and i'm glad he got killed. (EDIT: Although the little girl lives inside Hive now which was another cool twist)
I'm really surprised that Hammerhead ate pavement ... and Maniac lived. I expected Maniac to be killed for sure. A bit of a twist I guess from the original HARD Corps #1 back in the day.
And I was somewhat surprised that Clem got killed. He was very cool character that I thought had huge potential. I think maybe it was Bugsy who speculated that he could be Harada's kid (from Griffon) which I thought could have been huge twist. Maybe that's still the case ... and if he finds out that Torque was the one that killed him. Oh baby ... the rain of pain is going to come down in Torquhalla..!!
9/10 - LOVED IT!
Can't wait for next week!
I have faith that Faith will make it

Now Cronus and Telic are reluctant members of the Harbinger Foundation ..so hopefully we see more of them in the pages of Harbinger.
Hive (with Astral inside him) and Traveler are on the run... i wonder where they'll end up?

I still think the "witch tunnels" is Deadside. It would be interesting to see them show up in Shadowman. A twisted Hive who's lost his *SQUEE* could make for a cool villain. And Traveller as someone with access to Deadside would be very valuable to a certain evil necromancer who is trapped there.bygranddesign wrote:Now Cronus and Telic are reluctant members of the Harbinger Foundation ..so hopefully we see more of them in the pages of Harbinger.

What kind of monster could Master Darque twist out of Hive (considering all the monsters that are already inside him)??

BTW, really feel bad for that little girl that has to live inside Hive with all monsters

I was actually thinking of the Faraway as a place they could end up at.

Stunned after reading that. Knew it would be brutal, but did not anticipate just how much, and the impact it would have on me. Jaw dropped when Clem bit it (... pun... and so much for my certainty that there would be more to come with him...), and I couldn't believe when they dropped Astral (kinda.)

Re: Harbinger Wars #4 Discussion
A great conclusion. I'm not going to miss Clem as I just never liked him and he was always making rash decisions, and he finally paid for it. Faith is fine as I'm sure we could all guess. Harada gets his Harbingers, yet not the way he wanted. Glad we'll see more of Chronus. He's a great leader and really cares for those kids. Also, can we be sure Shakespeare is dead? It showed him lying there but it was only a gut wound. And intersting theory brought up about the deadside. I was thinking something similar. Definitely lots of plot lines an avenues opened up for the VU after this monumental issue.
What I'm most interested about, and not surprising as I think the H.A.R.D. Corps is the highlight of this event, is what Major Palmer is up to. Kind of walks off solemnly into the sunset. He seemed rather contemplative, what's he thinking and what are his plans? I want to know what happens to him and the H.A.R.D. Corps without lifeline. I want more of this team, and I'm so glad I'm going to get it by way of Bloodshot every month for the foreseeable future.

Did you guys see this interview from Josh D? He talks about wrapping up the Harby Wars.
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=46677" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The thing that struck me the most was his talk of the "fate of Faith", could she be dead??? I mean they killed Torque really early last time. going to be a long week waiting for the next issue of Harbinger.

Re: Harbinger Wars #4 Discussion
This article really makes me concerned as to Bloodshot's future. If he's going to side with PRS and HARD Corps it must be because of some agreement to bring down Harada. They really have to justify why Bloodshot would ever trust PRS.Jace wrote:Did you guys see this interview from Josh D? He talks about wrapping up the Harby Wars.

Actually I take back that comment about HARD Corps. The Generation Zero psiots are the ones who really stole the show. I forgot that awesome introduction they had in HW1. I like how Christian refers to Chronus as his "slave name". What a cool character. Like I sad previously, I love his leadership and caring nature towards these kids. Dysart creates yet another great group of characters.

Cronus may have become my favorite character after this issue. Dysart has created/written him amazingly. The death of many of the children under his protection is only going to drive him further toward the edge. He has amazing possibility as the third member of a Psiot Trinity with Pete and Harada. I also hope the bloody hand print becomes his symbol...visually striking and meaningful.CallMeBloodshot wrote:Actually I take back that comment about HARD Corps. i just read the interview too ... and just from the words Josh used like "heavy heart" and "bonded by the fate of faith" it makes me feel like that she will end up dying a heroic death that will inspire the renegades.Jace wrote:Did you guys see this interview from Josh D? Yeah I thought the continuation of that symbolism was pretty interesting. To be honest I thought he would branch off on his own after this issue, completing said trinity. Appears not (yet anywy). I think we're on the same page there. He'll only take his chances with Harada to buy more time for his crew.BugsySig wrote:Cronus may have become my favorite character after this issue. There's a Harby preview out that shows Faith's fate. Fear not. I believe Josh was just building tension for us, but it could be that mentally the battle and/or Clem's mental invasion of her has some aftereffects that she will need to work through. Physical survival doesn't necessarily mean "living" and if anyone is going to have PTSD fallout, it will be these kids.

I can't believe they killed Shakespeare
my money was on Hammerhead biting it.
Glad that BS and Harby will be expanding on this, I feel like there's a lot more story to be told here. Especially with Clem who died in probably the most hilarious way ever

I really liked my lunch time war read really hit the nail on the hammerhead. I didn't care for any
Of the HC they all seamed like murders and not worthy. Only the leader hideing in canada was the only worthy guy
I'm very interested to know how Valiant will publish the tpb for hw because without harbinger and bloodshot its only one third the story. Faith I'm hopeing will be fine.

I think we will see 3 separate trades, but it would be perfect for one of the Delux Editions to collect the complete Harbinger Wars.nonplayer wrote:I really liked my lunch time war read really hit the nail on the hammerhead. I didn't care for any

Personally I really like the HARD Corps. Shooting kids isn't right by any means, but they are a tough group assigned to do such a mission with a lot of angles to it. Also it does alleviate their actions a bit knowing that this group of psiots took innocent people hostage for days.

I'm thinking they're going to use Bloodshot and his nanites as the new Lifeline. PRS will upload the Harbinger powers into the nanites, and Bloodshot himself will act as a mobile Lifeline, in charge of HARD Corps.bygranddesign wrote:and left HARD Corps without Lifeline.

I loved this issue and am going to re-read all 4 from start to finish tonight, I am totally excited to see where Bloodshot, HARD Corps and Harbinger go from here. As excited or more excited than for the event it self and that's what a great crossover should do, really move the books involved to a new place and this crossover certainly achieved that.
Favourite moment was Torque chucking Clem in to the jaws of Baxter's monster, Clem told Baxter to bring the monster and Baxter didn't want to because "something bad always happens". I guess Clem found that out the hard way.

Runner up was Traveler dropping Shakespeare in front of Palmer, "let me show you what I can do"

Best line- Maniac "Okay bye, Sir! it's been fun!"

Loved the issue. Don't think Hammerhead died, as I think he's in promos for the Bloodshot & HARDCorps title. But, who knows?...
What happened to the kids from the nursery? Orange jumpsuit kids? They just ran off... Harada collected most of the Generation Zero kids.
Loved that Pete took off Bloodshot's arm. The Renegades fought DIRTY!
There was a page from the previews that was not in this issue! It was Faith's inner monologue as she was being controlled by Clem. Anyone else remember that? Kinda cool that it wasn't used in the final issue.
Loved this book. Was awesome! Looking forward to next week!

If Harada was "cleaning up this mess" would he not have gathered Shakes and Hammerhead's remains for study to see where PRS was at?
That ties into the theory (Chriskay99) that Bloodshot may now be the new Lifeline.
PRS's old model of transmitting powers via cell phone networks from a central base proved to be kind of weak, if Bloodshot was an indestructible power transmitter leading PRS suicide squads that could be a pretty cool book.
Harbinger Wars upped the ante on Harbinger and Bloodshot big time!
