Motor City Comic Con & Jim Shooter!!!
Anyone notice who was listed as a guest for the upcoming Motor City comic Con? Why Mr. Jim Shooter!!!!
I will be there all 3 days (working as a volunteer one of those days). Anyone else going? I plan on getting lots of stuff signed and maybe, if I am lucky, I will even talk Shooter into doing a sketch for me!

I'll sign them for you. I do a great Jim Lee, my Mcfarlane could use some work but its pretty good too.Flinx wrote:I Think I need to move to the US.
Also noticed that Norm Breyfogle, Sean Chen, Dave Cockrum & Aaron Lopresti are listed as guests, plus a lot of others I would like to meet.
Anyone out there willing to help get a couple of comics signed?

I might be able to help you get some books signed. How many are you talking? I'm not sure if any of the artists/writers have signing fees. Let me know. PM me or e-mail me...

I'm sure each one of us whom have seen Shooter has worshiped his work on pre-unity Valiant. And I'm sure each one of us has told that to his face when we get to shake his hand. Does he say anything back about it? Is their a spark in his eye when the topic is brought up? Does he know about this little fan following?

I wish he would drop us a line here. We've heard from the other big hitters at Valiant. I'm suprised he has'nt chimed in too.whetteon wrote:I'm sure each one of us whom have seen Shooter has worshiped his work on pre-unity Valiant. He is very appreciative to meet any and all fans. In person, with the fans, he's very generous, gracious and humble. I spent hours talking with him at one Con, all about Valiant, Bloodshot, LSH, Marvel, etc. And then he waqs just as gracious by email afterwards. There were many pros there who respect him (Paul Levitz & Walt Simonson being the most vocal fellow attendees there, while many more came by just to pay their respects).whetteon wrote:I'm sure each one of us whom have seen Shooter has worshiped his work on pre-unity Valiant. That was when I got my SOLAR HC signed by Shooter, JayJay and BWS. Great Con...

Yeah...I just moved to Brighton about a year ago. I've lived near Lansing and St Joe also.
It's probably been 6 years since I've been to the Con. I saw David Prowse (Vader) and Peter Mayhew (Chewey) the last time I was there. I also got Quesda/Palmotti to sign my XO #0. Very cool.
Let me know if you make it. I'd love to actually meet some of the people from the board.

I remember one like that that I visited in '95. It was very small and had almost no Valiants. I remember that driving a bit south on the interstate (not very close) there were two good ones (that I found in the phone book, one of them even had TV commercials). One closely west of the interstate and one a bit east of the interstate, close to a Sveden House.dave wrote:there was one in novi (a triangular building) but it closed...before i ever made it there!

There's nothing in Brighton that I know of. Howell has a new shop that opened last year, but they don't have any older than a year. Not worth your time. Novi has a Comic City, but again, mostly new stuff and TPB. You might get lucky there. Ann Arbor has a few shops that are decent. I also go up to Lansing. I grew up there and know the shops better.
Where do you go?
