I HOPE that he was kidding about the mug being sent in an envelope. If not, then that's two strikes what with the orange X-O shirt. I haven't ordered anything yet, but I really want to. But not so much anymore with the X-O shirt unless I hear that they've fixed this problem (or until they replace the image on the website so it's accurate).

I hope VEI can get these things fixed up so that these end up being speed bumps on the road to success. I'd love to hear some official response from VEI on these issues like the X-O shirt especially. We'll see if the coffee mug issue is universal or not as well. Worst is that I feel bad for the other Valiant fans out there that haven't found their way to this site where they can hear about stuff like this to make an informed decision before buying. They're in the same boat as those from the boards who jumped immediately in to buy stuff only to find out later the problems.

Sorry to hear that Ross. I'm sure the vendor will take care of this issue. Usually mugs are shipped with a customize styrofoam box. A bubbled envelope is not proper.

I've ordered custom mugs from Costco, Snapfish, Shutterfly and Personalized Mall and all the mugs shipped in box that specifically are made to ship mugs.

I know VEI have a deal worked out with this company, I just wish we could order through our LCS. It would save a lot of these "problems" I think too. Just an idea, but I would love to be able to have my LCS be able to order this stuff, like you could other merch. :hope:

They updated the shirt to the dark orange one on the site, now.

http://valiant.cinderblock.com/x-o-mano ... shirt.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have the feeling the other picture must have been of a prototype or something, and this darker orange is what the company can actually provide at the price they want to sell it at. That other color might be more uncommon/costly. At least now people can see what color they are buying.

Okay, I found the t-shirts a little rich for my blood but I was going to spring for the pins just to show my support at the next convention or what have you.

They want $4.80 to ship four little 1-inch pins.

:(

Like, this is the point where shipping in an envelope is appropriate.

I have the feeling this kind of thing is set by Cinder Block, though, so I don't blame Valiant. But I'm certainly not buying a set of pins by themselves and paying almost 5.00 in shipping. That's just ridiculous.

Now, when I checked the pins with a t-shirt, there was no extra shipping charge for the pins, just the shipping charge for the shirt. So if you guys are planning on getting the pins and a t-shirt, make sure to ship them together...

I got everything in my order just fine, including my bright orange X-O shirt so I was pretty happy overall.

I didn't really dig the way that it was all packaged together though. Basically the mug was wrapped up in the center of all of the shirts in a ball form. It effectively protected the mug, which is good because the deliverer has to toss the package over our outer door, but it just seemed a little unprofessional to me. I am not asking for Apple level packaging here or anything, but you know, having the shirts come folded like you would get them at a convention and having the mug in its own box would be nice. I understand this would probably be more expensive for Valiant to do this and I am all for them saving money where they can, so I really didn't mind all that much.

I am just glad to have some Valiant merch after all this time, but I thought that I would mention my thoughts about it here. Not a bog deal for this type of stuff, but when it gets into the statues and things like that I hope the shipping/packaging is a little bit more... involved.

Yep, got mine today and not loving the orange, I want what I saw in the picture when I ordered, I didn't even read the description that said orange. facepalm

Bloodshot and Harbinger shirts look like the pictures

Packaging left something to be desired...
three shirts and a set of pins shoved into a priority flat rate envelope :!:
Mine arrived last week too, I was bummed. facepalm I couldn't believe how ORANGE the shirt was.
It looked closer to gold, to me in the online pic. Isn't X-O's costume gold, not orange???

Just received my order which was the 3 character shirts and the mug (Harby Pin coming) and here's my verdict on the merch-

The winner is the Harby shirt, this is a really cool shirt very pleased.

Second is the Bloodshirt, looks great but as another member stated the design is a little long for a medium shirt. The Harby design is also long but the image works better and still looks good tucked in. I tuck in my shirts, I know crazy right? :P I'm sure they will both be better after a few washes so not worried at all.

As for the XO shirt I saw orange and didn't even take it out of the box. I will pursue this. I want the shirt I ordered, unacceptable. :sumo:

The Mug- The logo is not centred on the mug, it's off by about an 1/8 of a inch towards the handle. I'm okay with it but it could be better.

Very glad to get some merchandise however there is definitely room for improvement after this first venture.

I hope Valiant takes this as honest and constructive criticism from a dedicated fan.

Tucking in t-shirts is pretty crazy. Not as crazy as wearing a polo shirt with a suit jacket (yeah, I went there), but still pretty crazy. My brother always tucked them in, it made him look even nerdier than he already did (which was even nerdier than me, and I'm pretty nerdy looking). Your mileage probably varies, though, like I said, he's a nerd and a half even without the t-shirts tucked in.

It's too bad about the mug. I think a lot of this has to do with Cinder Block as a company, remember it is Valiant basically hiring a company to make this stuff for them, they have not a lot to do with it beyond providing the designs and giving their permission and collecting part of the profit. I have the feeling Cinder Block kind of screwed them over with that X-O shirt because they clearly intended it to be that light gold-orange, that is what they must have designed, but Cinder Block didn't follow through and actually basically deceived people, perhaps even Valiant themselves (like I assume someone from Valiant saw our complaints and made Cinder Block put up an image of what the shirt actually looks like so as to avoid this deception on their customers0. Now they got the correct image up there, but a lot of damage has already been done.

I received my order about a week ago. I bought one of everything. I'm still waiting on the back-ordered pins. I take that as a good sign though, since demand for them was higher than expected. That's the sort of wait I don't mind. Everything in my order was packaged well and came in as expected. This with the exception of the orange X-O shirt. I'm not going to pile on with that. I would have preferred the yellow shirt to more closely match the comic cover, but, being honest, I would have bought the shirt regardless. I'm just happy to get some cool Valiant stuff! :thumb:

You guys with the x-o shirts, just wash the shirt over and over with lots of old school detergent. You will get the faded orange look pretty fast!

Ditto.

My original post was going to read...

Looked for Shadowman logo T-Shirt...couldn't find Shadowman logo T-Shirt...so requesting Shadowman logo T-Shirt.

That is all (I just need to replace the old one that is in tatters after years of wearing it)

I ordered the Harbinger pin but i wish i ordered them all. I got 125$ worth of stuff and said ill get the rest of the pins with my next paycheck and get the bloodshot shirt. Now i got to wait to get all of it. Hopefully there will be more pins. It says it is all limited stuff so i have a feeling they wont. I hope I am wrong but then i hope I am not cause it keeps the value up. I havnt see any of the pins on ebay yet so i have a feeling nobody has them yet.

No it just I have played so many RPGs in my life. Final Fantasy 7 was the best RPG ever! Valiant has a remake now maybe FF7 should get one.
