Valiant Sketch book started at C2E2
After debating on Twitter with Sean (Bad Deacon) and Chris (Chris Campbell) I decided to start a Valiant only sketch book. Chris is doing this also, and I didn't want him to feel like I was copying his idea. So with a few Valiant artist's at C2E2, I decided it was going to be a good start to the book.
The very first page of the sketchbook, I got everyone at the Valiant booth to sign it. And some of them actually sketched in it too.

Dinesh signed and drew Fred
Gavin signed and drew the Harbinger Wars graph
Hunter signed with the Harbinger logo
Rob Venditti signed and drew Shanhara
Atom signed and drew the big A! Valiant logo
Fred signed
Josh signed and drew the Georgia G
It was awesome talking to everybody. They all got a kick out of signing and sketching in an all Valiant sketch book.
The first page after the signatures is Shadowman by Dave Johnson

Dave wasn't originally scheduled for C2E2, so I was pleasantly surprised to see him. I also was very happy on how the commission turned out.
Next is X-O by Clayton Henry

I was very torn on what I wanted Clayton to draw. First I did say X-O, but then I asked for Archer. After talking a little more with him, I finalized that I wanted X-O again.
All and all it was a great con and I had a great time getting the commissions. I also snagged a Harbinger Gold for wearing my Shadowman shirt on Friday, and my LCS had a booth there and they got me the Quantum & Woody shot glass. I will be at a few more cons this year and plan on adding more to the book.

That's probably the first (only?) Clayton Henry XO...at least that I've seen anywhere...that's something to be proud of
And DJ is awesome...a perfect fit for Shadowman.

Well, that does look like Archer in an X-O Suit.

Very awesome. I tried to get Dave Johnson to do a commission for me and he wasn't interested. Business must be good!

Awesome idea, and what great pics to start off with. I really love the way Johnson draws Shadowman, and very cool that you got Clayton to do XO - his style is perfect for the tech look of the armour.
Dare I ask what the sketches cost?

Although I do like the Henry version of X-O, that Johnson Shadowman sketch is straight-up coolness
!
I have to admit, I'm curious what they're charging for commissions like that, as well

Travis and I were lucky to have both Clayton and Dave there. I got something as well from each to start my book. But Travis absolutely hit a home run with Shadowman by Johnson.
Here is my Shadowman by Clayton (I let him choose)

And Mister Twist! By Johnson.

Re: Valiant Sketch book started at C2E2

Both the sketchbooks are great! Clayton does a great job. I saw an earlier (non-Valiant) book of his, and while you can somewhat tell it it his style, he has greatly improved. I really like his Shadowman.

I saw Chris' Shadowman by Henry before he did, it's awesome.
I've got a couple PM's and questions about pricing. I'm normally not one to talk about what I spend, but I'll share in case anyone else is interested. This does come with a precaution if you are familiar with commissions and cons, you know the prices vary depending on the artist, size of con, and how busy they are. So these prices might change for you.
Dave Johnson Shadowman was $150 for 3/4 figure + inks
Clayton Henry X-O was $200 for full figure + inks
Your mileage and pricing may vary. So use this as a starting guide for your pricing.
