There are a lot of those kids, so I'm guessing most of them won't make it

My 2 picks as of now:

Hive: He's at a breaking point having had to absorb so much psychic energy. He says "one last time.." when asked to absorb the infected chinese prisoners ... I think he's going to explode the next time he's asked to do something as horrible. It's either going to kill him or all these psychic imprints are going to change him into something really bad in which case he'll essentially be dead and all the evil inside him will take over.

Griffon: Love interest of Harada in the 1st Harbinger Wars. Something happened to her ..and I'm going to say it wasn't good. Either Harada kills her because she betrays him or PRS kills her in either case its the final nail in the coffin for any idealistic notions Harada might have still had about Humanity and turns him completely into the cold blooded Dictator he is today.

Okay, let's just stop that talk right now. They already killed Pulse, my original favorite supporting character. Don't make me hurt you for suggesting that they kill Telic, my consolation Pulse. I really don't think I'll be able to take it. Seriously. Still reeling from Pulse.

Actually, why don't you just go ahead an edit it out of your post, and I'll do the same once you've read this. Sounds good to me. This discussion never happened. :kidaround: (but not really kidding, maybe)

I hope none die too! I think this is why we have like 20 or so new harbinger kids. Some of them are doomed! I have my $$$ on Cronus. :hm:

So far Saturn (egg breaker) and Shadow (gen zero) were the two "big" characters to actually get killed so far

Dr. Kuretich also looks like he met his end in Bloodshot #12

With a few more issue's to go and all the major characters in Vegas for the final battle (And younger Harada at war in PRS headquarters in 1969)

here is the list of the major characters that might meet their ends - From most valuable IMO (Impact wise on the reader) to least valuable (again, Impact wise to the reader - don't mean to downplay any death even if its a fictional character)

Peter Stanchek
Toyo Harada
Bloodshot
Faith Herbert
Kris Hathaway
Flamingo
Torque
Charlie Palmer - HARD Corps
Bleeding Monk
Cronus (Christian) - Gen Zero
The Telic - Gen Zero
Stronghold - egg breaker
Hammerhead - HARD Corps
Dr. Kuretich
Shakespeare - HARD Corps
Clem - Bloodshot kid
Hunter (1969 egg breaker)
Griffon (1969 egg breaker and love interest of Harada's)
Little Castle (Isiah) - Gen Zero
Maniac - HARD Crops
Cloud (kalea) - Bloodshot kid
Hive (Pier) - Gen Zero
James (Zygos Twin) - Gen Zero
Katherine (Zygos twin) - Bloodshot kid
Carter - The leader of PRS in 1969
Traveler (wee mad mac) - Gen Zero
Lady Astral (Jessica) - Gen Zero
Atomus (Simon) - Gen Zero
Serenade (Nora) - Bloodshot kid
Ramsey (Ian) - Bloodshot kid
Titan (Baxter) - Bloodshot kid
Animalia (Monica) - Gen Zero
Shadow (Jillian) - Gen Zero
Ion (egg breaker)
Saturn - egg breaker
Graham - Bloodshot kid
Maggie - Gen zero
Eliphas (?? Gen Zero character)

Lol, talk about hedging your bets! Just listing basically every character in the story and saying "they might die..."

Honestly, I welcomed the death of Shadow. HW has all started to seem a bit anticlimactic to me, in that not a single even remotely 'major' character had died up until the final pages of 'part three' ('part' including HW, Harbinger and Bloodshot as a sort of simultaneous 'issue #3' of Harbinger Wars)

I honestly thought there was going to be a lot more action than there has been so far, seeing as it was billed as 'Battle for Las Vegas', and whilst there has been some conflict, my impression of HW is that the ratio of 'battling' to 'characters travelling about' has been weighted a bit too heavily in the latter direction. I mean, it's taken until the final pages of part 3 of 4 for all the characters to end up at the proposed battleground....

But anyway, I'm definitely not saying that "I think it's been rubbish" because I really have enjoyed the HW miniseries a LOT, but I simply just anticipated a bit more action overall. Personally I'm thinking that the HW miniseries was always intended to be a *really* big plot device for steering the Harbinger and Bloodshot stories in new directions (I.E. the formation of 'Bloodshot and HARD Corps' for example) and possibly even lay very early foundations for new comic lines for release later in the year or next year.

Regardless of my perceived 'lack of predicted action', the stories have been really good and a joy to look at, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up next month :D

I like the fact that the series hasn't been fight after fight after fight .. My favorite issue so far from Harbinger Wars was Harbinger #12 in which all the issue was about were characters interacting with each other. I thought it was brilliant character building issue and that's where I think Dysart really excels.

But there has been some great battles ... the Harada protocol was imaginative and brilliant .. and worth the price of admission alone. The two deaths of Saturn and Shadow weren't pointless deaths ... they showed the brutality and cold bloodiness of Harada and Palmer. The Kuritech death was poignant moment for Bloodshots character. But I think the real BIG battle will begin in the next 3 issues - Everything has been building up to HW#4 which i'm hearing will be incredibly jammed packed with action.

Simply listing all the characters as a reference point ... Its hard to keep track of all them. I wasn't making a prediction.
I thought other fans might find the list helpful when trying to figure out which ones might die.
And maybe more intriguing what happens to the gen zero/bloodshot psiot children, that do survive the war?

Ah, fair 'nuff, seemed more like you were saying "These characters might die" and then listing every character in the book, I thought it was quite funny  Although I misunderstood you and thought you were making some kind of really lame prediction... Ah well!

I'm pretty intrigued to see what Valiant is going to do with the psiot children post-HW as well. I'm wondering if they'll shoehorn some of them into Harbinger, or whether HW is the springboard for a new comic for these (or the remaining) characters later in the year or next year?

bygranddesign wrote:...I think the real BIG battle will begin in the next 3 issues....
So you think the battle will begin during the next round of HW comics? I reckon you're 100% correct. But what I wonder is; when will the battle end? It's really concerning me that the way the comics have been working so far we're going to get a really compressed battle in the final issue of HW with Harbinger and Bloodshot simply filling in the views from both camps. What I'm hoping for is that the next round of HW comics work purely in a chronological order, with the battle fully spanning all three comics, making a really big deal of the start, duration and end of the battle.

I think it'd be really strange to have the battle *start* during this round of HW comics, and then have it carry over and continue in Harbinger and Bloodshot as the next arc... I can't see that happening for a minute, but unless Valiant use all three HW issues to stage and finish the battle, I just can't see how they're going to do it without making the end seem a bit unfinished and maintaining the ultra-high quality of the series so far :|

But I maintain my constant faith in the talent of Valiant's writers - they've done a great job so far, and don't see why they'd start doing a bad job now! :D

Harbinger Wars tomorrow...here is a sickening thought...what if all the Renegades die and Pete is captured by Harada along with Bloodshot :o

That would gives us a reason to root for HARD Corps, they would be only ones left and Harada would be holding all the cards.

If Harada killed the Renegades we would really really really hate him forever and ever as would Pete, as if killing Joe wasn't enough.

I think the final battle will conclude tomorrow in Harbinger Wars #4. I think there will be an all out battle and some big things will happen including Bloodshot being captured by Harada but for the most part Harbinger Wars will come to a satisfying conclusion.

I think Valiant plans on collecting the Harbinger Wars in 3 different trades so the title Harbinger Wars I think needs to come to an end tomorrow that makes sense for someone who ends picking it up later in a trade.

Harbinger next week will show the perspective of the battle from the renegades standpoint with more perspective of the fallout from the battle ... while also concluding the 1969 Harbinger Wars.

Bloodshot next week will show the battle from Bloodshots perspective and the fallout from the battle. You also might see some more stuff about HARD Corps - like perhaps Kara Murphy joining HARD Corps..?

I have a hard time believing any of the renegades will die ... but the next arc feels like it will be a bit surreal (with Joe Irons on the cover of one of the variants) where everything is perfect but not quite .. I'm not sure if it was this thread or another Harbinger thread that we were speculating that maybe you find out someone died by the end of the next arc. :hm:

I'm hoping no one dies ... but it would be pretty gutsy to kill of any the renegades they are such great characters. Heck i'd be pretty devastated if Cronus or Telic died..

She can only see probable immediate futures.
So, she would probably have 5 or 10 minutes to see that death was coming for her and that there was no way out.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch...read my comment on the Harby #14 thread.

Also, don't forget the assassination of Kara's character in Bloodshot #13..."Stay there kids. You'll be alright!"..."Nom Nom Nom," says the Monster as he chows on Clem's dome

I think the writers got the balance right. Clem, Hammerhead, Griffon, and Kuretich were ones I didnt see comming. Happy none of the 'major' characters died though I do like BugsySig's comment of Kara's character assassination :D
