Massive crease lines in latest books
Gots me Harby #11 and A&A #9 with multiple massive crease lines from printers on inner pages. Anyone else run into this too?
I usually never check my pulls that close, but, ...sad. Both issues outstanding however.

Re: Massive crease lines in latest books
I don't have any of this months books yet, but I've had this problem to a greater or lesser degree in multiple books over the last couple months. I really hope VEI can get this problem straightened out. Some of us can't just flip through them to check before buying them or walk over to the racks and find an undamaged copy. Mine get shipped to me once a month and by then I'm glad to have them despite the damage, but still don't like getting damaged goods.

Not with this batch of books but the damage on the covers has been pretty bad as of late...

Re: Massive crease lines in latest books
Both of yesterday's books (A&A and Harbinger) were in pretty rough shape. My shop guy tries to art aside the best ones for me but even these were bad. He said most of the Valiant books they've been getting from Diamond are really banged up. Still bought my copies cause I wanted to get to the reading!

I haven't opened up this week's books yet, but they looked pretty slick on the outside. My books from my shop always look pretty good.

Yes, cover damage and crease lines/partially folded on only certain inner pages. A&A, Bloodshot, Harbinger.

Re: Massive crease lines in latest books
Yes I was shocked at the condition, particularly the A&A variant cover, I searched high low and the best copy I could find was VF/NM-.
Entire stacks all with the same defects...Brutal.
I don't like paying $4 for a book that would only sell in a dollar bin due to condition.
I think this is my biggest peave with Valiant right now. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that books are never late so perhaps the part of the process that suffers most is printing. Things may be going to the printer so late there is no time for quality control.

Re: Massive crease lines in latest books
I often get stress lines in the books. The covers are also just slightly askew (maybe 1mm), so you can see a sliver of the interior pages from the outside on 2 sides of the books. These seem to be consistent printing problems that I see every week.

Re: Massive crease lines in latest books
If your smart youll do a pullbox subscription. That way they get them and pop them in a bag and board and put the issues in your box. It is 100% not the comic shops. I have a pull list at Curious, but they don't bag and board your comics at C3. I added HW2 to my pull that day, as for any other pullers, totally forgot to ask.nonplayer wrote:If your smart youll do a pullbox subscription. This is great to see the concern about the condition of the books.

Never doughted it.
All the interviews, and info I have read - looks like Dino is a seriously hard working guy. Yet every photo he has a massive grin on his face.

Seen this kind of damage in one or two issues each of the last 2-3 months. Got mine from Collecters Paradise which I'm sure isn't at fault. PM sent.dino wrote:Hey guys,

Re: Massive crease lines in latest books
I doubt very much we can point fingers at retailers for this sort of damage, it's almost certainly printing press damage/error for the most part.
Things like cover printing being off by a millimeter I wouldn't notice, but having press runs and tears in the pages does kinda make you go 'aw!' when you first turn that page.
But it's nice to see that Valiant are looking into it, and hopefully it'll be a thing of the past in no time! I'm glad to have only come across this once myself
