Re: giliad
He was the one with the scars on his face that seemed to be second in command under Alaric. Alaric gave him the order to retreat and he was passing the word when Aric charged in anyway.

The title of your post impresses upon me that indeed, if Gil was at the Siege of Troy, that it would be the Giliad.

The dude on the left was supposed to be Gilly, but the scars are the wrong direction.

Re: giliad
Going to be so cool, the two of them fighting again. Will Gilaad remember Aric? Or believe that its actually him? Sure, Aric can remember Gilad as it's only been a few years, but for Gil, it's been thousands! Does he remember everyone and everything?
Will be awesome to watch this encounter unfold. Maybe Gilad teaches Aric about modern times, or the history he has missed...? Or maybe become his Turok, his buddy from another time...? Do dino hunting...? Hah!

I think that implies not that he is immortal, but that he is a long-lived alien from a far off planet ruled by General Katana.Burrito Boy wrote:[Queen]Here we are. No, but my T-rex can time travel. I also have a gun that never runs out of bullets because the chamber contains a portal to another dimension where EVERYTHING IS BULLETS.

Don't make me slap you, Chiclo. That movie is the prime example of how executives can ruin a good idea. The theatrical release of Highlander has been almost completely wiped from my brain. The Renegade Version is canon in my eyes.Chiclo wrote:I think that implies not that he is immortal, but that he is a long-lived alien from a far off planet ruled by General Katana.Burrito Boy wrote:[Queen]Here we are. Re: giliad
'Renegade Version'?! How did I not know about that?! I just read up about it on Wikipedia... So are you a fan of the true renegade version from 1995, or the more recent revision from 2004?lorddunlow wrote:Don't make me slap you, Chiclo. I must see this. Seriously, the original Highlander 2 is in major contention for worst movie of all time.

I have the 1995 release (on VHS, no less) of the Renegade Version and I actually find it to be a fairly good film. I am an uber Highlander film. The whole mythos has intrigued me since I saw the first film on video when I was about 8 or 9. I was sooooo excited when the second movie came out and I saw it in the theater at the age of 10. I've never been more angry with a film to this day! When I heard of the Renegade Version a few years later, I jumped on it. It removes all of the crap about aliens and makes it rather enjoyable, especially when compared to the theatrical version. Aliens. Stupid executives.

i am interested to see the 2004 version since it apparently has updated special fx.

Poe was referencing a slightly older text.Baramos wrote:Well as Poe said, there is no balm in Giliad.Dr. Solar wrote:The title of your post impresses upon me that indeed, if Gil was at the Siege of Troy, that it would be the Giliad.
