Marvel jumping into the 8 bit game
For something called Avengers AI. I'm just glad VEI got theirs out first otherwise they would be accused of copying!
I don't think that Marvel is copying VEI's idea here either since there is no way, they could move this fast to get something out there like this.

Oh, here is the article. I'm the one who mentioned Valiant in the comments, BTW!

Re: Marvel jumping into the 8 bit game
Retro-gaming is a huge trend already happening, so I'd agree that Marvel had this in the works nearly simultaneous to Valiant rather than copying them. I'm still glad that Valiant got theirs out first though! The general comic-reading public would likely assume Valiant was copying Marvel if they hadn't done it 'first'

Kaboom Comics had done it before with Ducktales two years back:

Adventure Time had one last year too.

Re: Marvel jumping into the 8 bit game
I saw this earlier on Comic B-a-s-t-a-r-d-s.com While it's true that retro gaming does represent a certain portion of the videogaming audience (myself included), it's pretty clear that Valiant's 8-bit initiative got them plenty of attention in the comic press and Marvel is biting their steez a little bit.

I agree. Marvel is imitating. Oh well. Good to see Valiant is the trendsetter for the industry.Xtianhardy wrote:I saw this earlier on Comic B-a-s-t-a-r-d-s.com While it's true that retro gaming does represent a certain portion of the videogaming audience (myself included), it's pretty clear that Valiant's 8-bit initiative got them plenty of attention in the comic press and Marvel is biting their steez a little bit.

I actually think the Ducktales one is the coolest. It totally looks like one of those old NES game covers. I probably would have wanted that game back in the day!vikingspawn wrote:Kaboom Comics had done it before with Ducktales two years back:

Also, I guess it just goes to show that there are no original ideas anymore!

I think this has been in production for a while. It supports Avengers AI, a new series about robot Avengers which would spin off from Age of Ultron.tarheelmarine wrote:I agree. Marvel is imitating. Plus, I doubt that Marvel could get anything from idea, to concept, to approval, to cover as fast as this. Especially considering the covers were announced what, about a month ago?erwinrafael wrote:I think this has been in production for a while. Also, if they are biting, it ain't off Valiant since 8-bit covers are nothing new as has been established earlier in this thread.
