Who will survive the Harbinger Wars?

Post by bygranddesign »

So... should I be worried that one of my favorite characters will die?

If someone major does die ... which character do you think it will be? One of the renegades?

I have this sickening worried feeling Kris will be the odd person out ... her death could drive Peter into becoming the 'destroyer' that the bleeding monk has foreseen.

I might have to start a 'if Kris dies we Riot' campaign :|

Torque seems too obvious, and personally I'd rather Kris dies before Flamingo or Zephyr. Hopefully none of the renegades will die ( :hope: ) and i really hope Kara doesn't die...

I think enough characters are being introduced that they can kill off a few without losing any of the main cast. I don't want to lose any of them either.

I really don't want to see any of the Renegades die, but if I had to choose one it would be Torque. The others are just too damn important right now to see killed off, but I guess time shall tell their fates.

Don't let it be Flamingo, she's hot.....lol.

I don't see any of the main characters dying this quickly into the run. I think we all expect Torque at some point, but considering they're just starting to come together as a team, I just don't see it happening. They are introducing a bunch of the other psiots and newer characters so I don't expect them to make, but I think the main Harbinger kids are safe.

Pretty safe. :hope:

Torque does seem like the most likely candidate for death, but from what people have said here it appears that he died quickly in the original series and I really want VEI to not mimic the originals too closely, if at all. Let the team flow together for a while and then maybe around issue #25-30 kill Torque off, or maybe Kris, but only if they're going to be replacing the dead character with someone else on the team. I want to see the team grow, not too big mind you but big enough to where if someone does die that there wouldn't feel like a giant hole in the book.

The Telic will be killed as I believe she is overpowered and it strains my brain when I have to work out how her powers work ;)

I don't think Torque should be killed off at all. From my understanding this is what happened in the original Valiant but it doesn't have to happen in the VEI.

I really like Torque as the character has layers. He is basically a cripple doing a psychic projection and doesn't even realise he is doing it. I don't know if that is the same thing as what happened in the original Valiant but it is something I am really enjoying about the character.

It just goes to show how good the writing and characterisation is in the VEI when there is not one person from the main protagonists that we would like to see killed. Now if you asked me the same thing about the X-Men then I could give you a list of people that need to die ;)

Chances of Bloodshot's psiots dying anyone? Are they plot-integral, or are they fodder?

Is Hive too obvious of a choice?
I think Cronus will die simply because he seems like a good guy and a competent leader.
I'm also betting heavily on one of the Zygos twins.

I can't see them killing any of the very young kids, so that only leaves a handful of choices. It will depend how much they build up Cronos, Telic, Hive, etc.

If I had to guess, the new flyer kid could be a goner...he duplicates Faith's ability, and he's already shown himself to be kind of a *SQUEE*.

We have already seen the Renegades get killed by Bloodshot in the Bleeding Monk's vision. Does that count? :P

If Faith dies I will find a fat blonde, dress her in skin tight white clothes, toss her out my window to watch her fly, and flee when she hits the cement and dies. If I get caught I will just blame the media....

Just sayin'

Dude, is Cronus officially a nod in your direction, or what? You must have asked Josh at WonderCon...

Listen to the latest OTV episode. Dysart officially acknowledged that the Cronos character was named after Elveen (Christian)!

That is so cool. I just re-read Harbinger Wars #1, and I absolutley read all of Christian's dialogue with Elveens voice in my head. :thumb:

Y'know, I read on one of the preview pages on that other website that one of Peter's Renegade crew is basically getting replaced with a new one, so bets on who's going to get it the axe? I really don't know anything about Harbinger because I don't read it, but having read Harbinger Wars #1, I can see Torque dying.

Saying "I've finally made it out of the trailer" seems too much like jinxing yourself to me

Oh, and if we start creating a 'Dead List', so far we have:

Melissa (Bloodshot's psiots)
The whole Renegades team (in one of the Bleeding Monk's visions)
Bloodshot (Self detonation, woohoo!)
x4 PRS soliders
x12 non-affiliated soldiers
A bunch of diseased Chinese political prisoners

Did anyone die, one way or the other in Harbinger #11?
