Diamond named Valiant as Publisher of the Year in the second category.
DC won for large publishers with more than 4% market share, Valiant won for everyone else.

Here's how the winners are determined:
"The Gem Awards are selected in a three-step process that is based on quality, creativity, and their overall sales impact. Nominees were selected by a panel of Diamond industry professionals from all products shipped in 2012 and then almost all are voted on by the most critical segment that serves the comic book-buying public — comic book specialty retailers across the United States and abroad."

Nice!!
That is really cool, but they should have put the Valiant logo up on the page.
