My Valiant Story
Blame it on on Wizard magazine... in 1992, my grade school friends introduced me to comic book collecting and image/valiant comics. pre-Unity comics were moving up in price, but I was able to pickup the TPBs and subscribe to post-unity books. I still remember comic books stores with piles of Valiant comics behind glass! It's so fun for me to now be able to pickup these books for $1 or less!
When I heard that Valiant was relaunching in 2012, I was excited that the books were brought back by 'fans'. But when I asked my LCS to order them, they gave me a blank look. "Valiant comics?"
Man, that made me feel old. I was still able to pickup the first issues at the stands, before moving to Comixology for digital editions. Over the last few weeks I found out about OTV (while searching for Valiant podcasts) which led me to this site.
Also noteworthy is that I'm from Pittsburgh (like Jim Shooter) so I love that Harbinger starts off there! Especially, the VH3 Harbinger which features a ton of city shots.
I'm also interested in collecting VH1 original art. I only have a few pages, but my CAF gallery is here:
http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=2209
Thanks for reading!
