East of West

Nabbed the first issue today, mainly out of curiosity from all the chat about it 'round here. I knew virtually nothing about the premise beyond seeing a tiny blurb about it in the back of Invincible #101.

Just read it, and I am impressed. A very cool fusion of alternate history/sci-fi/western themes. And so far, at least one kick-a$$ character. I won't say much more until others have had a chance to read & reply here.

Hope it doesnt become worth much... because I just pulled mine out of my bag bent in half

Also looking forward to it though mainly due to the blurb in the back of Invincible.

Thinking of picking this up eventually in trade. I'd be interested to know what everyone thinks.

I was going to read it today, but my LCS only got 1 copy that I didn't get. I am going to go check out some shops around San Bernardino this Saturday. Hopefully one of them has a copy still. Otherwise I gotta wait for my DCBS order to come in like 3 weeks.

So life happened (as it always does), so I just finished reading it. I'm very excited. I really liked Death. Love the atmosphere of the book. The art is really good. I'm intrigued about the Wolf and Crow characters. I really like death.

Has anybody else read yet? I'd really like to start discussing it a little.

I picked up 2 copies. I skimmed through it, not really read it yet though. Looks pretty good though.

It does say Jonathan Hickman on it right?

I love Jonathan's stuff in general. His Avengers right now MAY be the best thing published by Marvel.

We ordered 100+ copies and yet it was not enough. We just ordered 2nd print

Btw if you want to see cool interviews with Jonathan go to our store site and they should be at the bottom of the page

That really bums me out. I am gonna hit up a bunch of stores this weekend and I thought that I might be able to score one somewhere. Looks like I might have to wait until my DCBS order comes in at the end of April.

I hate when a book I am really looking forward to comes out the week AFTER my order ships. Looks like Jupiter's Legacy will do the same thing to me next month.

I went to 5 shops around the Inland Empire today and only found one store that had one copy. I thought it was gonna be all mangled, but it was in pretty good shape.

So I will be reading this after the kids color easter eggs and we watch the Hobbit!

Got some sort of variant signed by the artist Nick Dragotra with a sketch on the board at wondercon. Only reason I even bought It was because I saw it posted here. Still haven't read it yet though.

I don't really get the hype behind this one, the 1st issue really didn't give you much to go on.
