Yo, here's a thing: What was that weird mind-power thing that Shadowman did to revive the girl in deadside when she went unconcious?

And how will that resuscitation affect her going forward? Are there shadow-zombie side-effects?Shadowman99 wrote:Yo, here's a thing: What was that weird mind-power thing that Shadowman did to revive the girl in deadside when she went unconcious?

Re: Shadowman #4 Discussion
It looked to me like a simple kiss, which I thought was a little hokey (if so). It seems like JJ is setting up a love interest with Alyssa which seems a little rushed; they barely know each other. I mean, in the last issue we had Jack decide his entire fate (by choosing to embrace the Loa when his father appeared to him) on the basis of his desire to save Alyssa.Shadowman99 wrote:Yo, here's a thing: What was that weird mind-power thing that Shadowman did to revive the girl in deadside when she went unconcious?
I suppose I don't mind the romantic angle, it just seems premature judging by their limited interaction.

Yep, but 1)She's hot and 2)He's a dude 3)She's saved his bacon before 4)Most of their interaction is adrenaline-based. Causes things to boil that might not normally even simmer.jmatt wrote:It looked to me like a simple kiss, which I thought was a little hokey (if so). I saw it more as "breathing" life back into her. I think the Loa is MUCH more powerful when on the Deadside, and could do something like that.jmatt wrote:It looked to me like a simple kiss, which I thought was a little hokey (if so). Re: Shadowman #4 Discussion
I agree 100%. I was a dumb a$$ impulsive guy when it came to women for many years, probably around Jack's age. So I find it highly probable that he would fall at first sight for someone as hot and as interesting as her. Hell, she can make blue flame magically erupt from her hands. I'd wanna take that chick to dinner and a movie.pixierosa wrote: Yep, but 1)She's hot and 2)He's a dude 3)She's saved his bacon before 4)Most of their interaction is adrenaline-based. Yeah, I think that's right. So, are there any side-effects or consequences I wonder?

So, uh, when is Jack going to clear the desk off in a moment of passion and show this chick the power of his staff? If you catch my drift.....
He he. Anyhow, I think a relationship between the two is inevitable.

Oh man, I hope not. She has that flaky "of the now" characteristic that makes me associate her with the likes of Buffy, not someone who should be older and wiser.BugsySig wrote:Until he finds out she's really a 2 hundred year old Voodoo Queenmanga4life wrote:So, uh, when is Jack going to clear the desk off in a moment of passion and show this chick the power of his staff? I'm with you on that one. I think it'd be more interesting to keep her as this type of character in the story, and maybe introduce a Nettie-type character later.pixierosa wrote:She has that flaky "of the now" characteristic that makes me associate her with the likes of Buffy, not someone who should be older and wiser.
I hope we get some explanation of that revival 'power' at some point soon/later, because it's pretty obvious right now that we're all just having to speculate
