Joker's Asylum: The Penguin - one shot by Jason Aaron. A character study. Good stuff.
Back to Brooklyn - Ennis, Palmiotti - mob story. good read if you like mob stuff.
Debris - Kurtis Weibe and Riley Rossmo. I buy everything Rossmo works on, but this really tests that. Not good. I don't really like Weibe as a writer.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Finally sat down and read "The Massive" #1-3. I dig the art and the concept is interesting, but still too early to tell what exactly is going on with this book. I am keeping it on my pullbox for now.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
I just finished reading the material out of the Grendel Omnibus vol. 1: Hunter Rose TPB that I never read before.
Up next is The Transformers: Autocracy GN and Dragon Age vol. 1: The Silent Grove GN and some of the material in The Transformers: Classics UK vols. 1-3.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
I've read some real good stuff lately.
TWD #90-101. WOW. Disturbing and magnetic. The 2 most disturbing and shocking things I've ever read in comics happened in TWD.
I also just read Fairest #1-3 by Willingham. Not as good as Fables, but pretty good.
I am now starting the complete run of Unknown Solider by Dysart.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Reading Unknown Solider by Dysart, just finished #4.
Not what I expected, (not sure what I expected) but it has a Walking Dead quality to it. It draws you in and makes you think...... what would I do?
There are some totally surprising twists.

I was drawn to Revival #1 this week and picked it up on a whim. It seems promising to me - I like the setting and the horror elements.

Just read Revival #1 and thought it was a great first issue. It really came off strong and left me wanting more.
I like the whole revival idea with the mix in of religion.
I will be reading issue 2 tonight

Just started reading the Walt Simonson Thor Omnibus. Even though I have the originals bound, I wanted this because of the recoloring they did on it and I'm not disappointed. It's very cool

I don't think I've read a story from him that I didn't enjoy. He's the only comic book creator that I can say that about.
I finished The Transformers: Autocracy TPB yesterday and right now I'm not sure what to think about it.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Invincible #94 - I didn't see that coming. Excellent issue.
Scalped #60 - The final issue of a fantastic series.
Rorscharch #1 - I liked it. There is alot of complaining about these Before Watchmen books, but I've liked everything I've read thus far.
Loki #1 (from a few years ago) - I love a good Loki story. I don't think I've ever read a bad Loki story. He may be my favorite villain in the Marvel U even though Thor is not a biggy for me.

Likewise. Lots of fun, decent depth and some nifty art, to top it all off. Who knew Gerard Way really was a half-respectable writer?Big Red wrote:Ditto.Lightning Strike wrote:I loved these books.missjay wrote:There's a lot more, but here are some series I recently finished and others I'm reading...

Re: What comics are you reading now?
This weekend I read...
John Byrne's 2112 (Prelude to Next Men) and John Byrne's Next Men 0-30: This was some really good stuff...made me remember why I was such a huge John Byrne fan back in the 90's. I am curious to see how the IDW series take off from this one. In the letter's page of issue 30 JB said that his plan was take takeJBNM in a completely different direction (and was even considering changing the title) so I don't expect it to be more of the same.
Saga 1-6: Very good story, love the art. I added this comic to my pull list (an picked up 1-2 as back issues) after seeing it recommended here.

Oo!! I still haven't read 2112... But I love the whole Next Men series. The IDW books are good, though I felt it ended a bit soft... Well worth reading, I was very happy he revisited the title.SJS4 wrote:This weekend I read...

I'm enjoying this storyline too. Got my letter printed, first one in the column this time!! (it's my third letter published in Invincible!). All I can say is... VerBOOM!!400yrs wrote:Invincible #94 - I didn't see that coming. Excellent issue.

Also got;
Planetoid #3 - really liked this issue, great change of pace from the 1st two.
Iron Man 523 - this one's building up to an exciting finish, I think...

I also completed my 'floppy' set of the Grant Morrison Animal Man run this past weekend... Been working on that for a couple of years, now I can finally look forward to sitting down to read it.
