Wow this thread got out of control. Lots of mudslinging. I think this thread should be moved to oblivion/deleted. It serves no good and might encourage new members to a) not join this forum b) not to continue participating in this forum c) cause people to cancel their Valiant titles (why am I investing in these characters if they will be gone in 6 months?) d) doesn't help Valiant at all

Yes bits are of topic, and people said some off the wall things. Amongst the rubble is some great facts and numbers by fellow board members.
New members maybe scared, I was when I first started. Would it care me off - yes.

Maybe my thread title could mislead new members - but I honestly feel valiant will be arround for years to come. Didn't really think that it could be taken as fact - but you are correct a visitor my see that an run.

May edit tiltle.

At about the 20 minutes left in the podcast John Mayo goes into an analysis about the sales numbers for Valiant. Very positive.

Very positive, indeed. They aren't quite up on their VALIANT history (old or new), but that's great because it is very unbiased.

Only negative, he keeps calling it Har-bing-er facepalm He says he knows Sean from OTV, so maybe he can correct him on that :thumb:

I hope that what I posted earlier about what I heard proves to be wrong... I work in the business as a letterer and prepress production artist and at all of the cons and store appearances I did this past year a lot of fellow pros were mentioning the FCBD or bust theory... I really hope it's not true. Dino has been really great with me as he sold me two mint undamaged replacement copies of The Summer Of Valiant tpb that I got in NY... Both of the damaged ones went to new readers in the hopes they become regulars... I'm loving all of the books especially Shadowman and I absolutely love the new Flamingo (hotter than ever)...

Just heard that the competition is about to get weaker for Valiant.

News story on Comic Book Movie.com about Lucasfilm not planning on renewing it's contracts with Dark Horse in 2013 for its Star Wars comics. Dark Horse will still finish anything in the pipeline already, but Marvel will slowly take over and the transfer should be complete by 2015 when the new movie is scheduled to release.

This will certainly cost Dark Horse a big chunk of its market share. The 3 Star Wars titles they released in November are all within their top 8 books out of 25. That's 40,000 comics in November. That is .5% of their market share which last month was 3.75%. This would drop them to 3.25% which would drop them from 5th place in market share to 6th, just below Dynamic Forces at 3.33%. Don't know how much they'll lose on the Trade market, but alot I bet.

I admit I've become a podcast junkie. I rarely, if ever, listen to music in the car anymore. Sometimes the length can be too much. That's why I sometimes break an episode up.

How to you download it to listen in your car? Do you have a USB stick on your radio system in the car?

Also if you read above, I ment to say - is their highlights, our funny outtakes ? To listen to rather than the whole podcast?

I just download them to my smartphone and listen to that. The whole podcast is them discussing the sales figures for trades for last month. At one point they diverge to talk about how Valiant is doing overall sales wise.
