2012 VEI Variant Solicits- Which is your Favorite Cover?
So its near the end of 2012.
Just wanted so summerize all the limited variants (1:50 and Line Wide Variants) that VEI solicited each month in 2012. Overall, I have to say that VEI's marketing man did a very good job in making these incentives. For every month since May, there was atleast one 1:50 or line wide variant solicited. Whoever thought about this surely did help increase the sales # for Valiant.
2012 Year in Review of Limited VEI Variants Solicitations
Which one is your favorite???
While I love the Lemire cover, my favorite one is probably the X-O #1 QR. It was the first 1:50 book VEI has put out, plus you can hear Aric speak with scanning the QR Code. Its so innovative.
My least favorite (I know most of you will agree) is the Archer & Armstrong Neal Adams Cover.
May - X-O Manowar #1 1:50
June - Harbinger #1 1:50
July - Bloodshot #1 1:50
August - Archer & Armstrong #1 1:100 Adams Line Wide
September - X-O Manowar #5 1:50 Ninjak (X-O Manowar #1 Gold Line Wide)
October - X-O Manowar #6 1:50 Zircher
November - Shadowman #1 1:50
December - Archer & Armstrong #5 1:50 (Archer & Armstrong #1 Gold Line Wide)
January - Harbinger #8 (Lemire 1:125 Line Wide)
February - Harbinger #0 (Harbinger #1 Gold 1:150 Line Wide)

The XO 5 Ninjack cover is awesome, but I think you've omitted the best two of the year - the David Aja covers for A&A 1 and Bloodshot 1. It was seeing these that prompted me to give Valiant a try in the first place.

Tough call for me. Favorites from the above are X-O #1, Bloodshot #1, and Shadowman #1.
FWIW my favorite cover from the line, overall, is the 1:20 Aja variant for X-O #1.

in my heart it has to be the XO qr because it was so innovative and scarce. Not many people around me had seen it and when I put my phone on it people were always blown away. Also XO gold because it brought back the gold program which is near and dear to my little heart! But for the more common variants Bloodshot and XO by Aja were hands down the best. Great first year though!!

My fav was the X-O #1 1:20 orange cover (Aja? Either not displaying or not above). Very cool and well designed.

Favorite for Artwork alone is A&A #5 with the Eternal Warrior. Clean, clear lines and great overall.
Favorite for sheer awesomeness is a tie between the X-O #1 talking cover for its inovativness and the awesome scale of the Harby #0 gatefold cover.
Least favorite is the 'sketchbook' style Harby #8. It's unique, but just jarring to my eye.

Re: 2012 VEI Variant Solicits- Which is your Favorite Cover?
I love Lemiere's Harbinger #8 variant, but since that isn't released until January, I'm not going to list it. I'll post my favorite variants by series:
Archer & Armstrong
While it didn't strike me at first when it was shown in Valiant's FCBD preview book, I like David Aja's #1 1:20 variant especially after liking his work from Hawkeye. In a close call between #2's Patrick Zircher 1:25 variant, #3's Aja design variant (which I do have and my comic store still has), and #4's wanted poster by Juan Doe, I'm going with the Zircher variant with a dizzy, possibly drunk Armstrong staring at the Archer cuckoo birds circling above his head. Puts a smile on my face.
Bloodshot
Tie between two #1s: Aja's 1:20 and Esad Ribic's 1:50. Love how the red color is presented on the black-and-white Aja cover, but Ribic has my personal favorite rendering of Bloodshot.
Harbinger
By a mile, my favorite variant is the Doug Braithwaite 1:20 cover for #1. I love how it incorporates both the present series and the now-exploding L8-AGIN Mustang from the 1st Harbinger series. I'm still mad that it is no longer the cover to the first trade. I'm also a fan of his #4 variant w/ Faith.
Shadowman
The Blackout Pullbox variant is a thumbs up despite not having it and straining my eyes trying to view it from my laptop screen. Also, I love that Dave Johnson is attached to do the covers and wish he did the regular covers and not the variants; that said, I like the #2 1:25 variant most, even above the pullbox variant.
X-O Manowar
Lots of good-looking covers. The Win for me is the #6 Zircher 1:50 Line variant. I love every aspect of this cover, from the poses to the colors to the background; it also doesn't hurt that I got this one in my pullbox instead of the regular cover. Place goes to Aja's 1:20 variant for #1 - again it reminds me of his Hawkeye covers. Show goes to the #5 Pullbox variant by Philip Tan, as I love the scene it captures.

My favourite three of the ones you posted above would be 1] XO 6 Zircher 2]Bloodshot #1 [Ribic] and 3] XO #1 QR...
So far the Braithwaite Harbinger #1 1:20 remains my top fav. of all covers, followed by Harbinger #6 by Suayan, with the XO #6 Zircher coming in third...
There is a ridiculous amount of impressive cover art to date, though.
