Some large pictures of the Valiant panel at LBCC

Post by spong107 »

Just a week before LBCC, I found out that Valiant was back. I didn't do much research before going to LBCC and was surprised to see Valiant there. They were giving out some Archer & Armstrong #1 Golds, and I was able to get one! All around a great panel with a lot of great questions coming from the fans. This was before I discovered ValiantFans.com and OTV podcast.

I have a small blog post with pictures here: http://www.sunpech.com/2012/11/long-bea ... -2012.html

For any photogs out there, I used a Canon 5DM3 with my 24-105 f/4 L lens.

I don't know what that is, but those are some nice pictures!

There were a handful of us (board members) there. We'll have to meet up at the next con.

Those turned out good. The lighting at conventions can be less than desirable. I use a Nikon D60. I won't be giving it up anytime soon, but how do you like Canon? (photograph geek alert)

I really enjoy my Canon gear. Not to say that I'm pro Canon and anti Nikon. I think Nikon is great too and if I had started using Nikon a few years ago, I would stick to using them. But since I started with Canon, I like them and and continue to stick with them. I have a few other lenses too which I use at comic cons and cosplay events: the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS L II and the Canon 50mm f/1.4. The former for those panels where I know I can't get up close and the latter, the 'nifty fifty', for some close ups or for individuals or pairs-- has a pretty nice bokeh effect.

I don't own any Nikon gear, yet.

Thanks! In SoCal I try to attend as many cons and shows as I can. Now I have more reason to as I'm trying to complete my 'classic' Valiant collection by digging through some old comic bins. :)

Hey Bro, I have over a long box of Valiants that I took to the last small con I set up at. I have them priced at a buck. please feel free to send me your list to see if I have any of them. I have a bunch of the other not $1 Valiant books also.
