I have decided to try to part with my recently completed(?) CGC 9.6 Pre Unity Set and focus on 9.8s a lot slower this time... and without making my wallet scream.
Only 3 issues are missing and those are not VH1 original stories aka Vintage Magnus 2-4. Asking price is $1788 shipped and Insured. That Price is $392 below Guide price for 9.6s and does not factor in any additional value for the two 9.8 slabs or the CGC SS, or not to mention that this is a "Complete set."
Do the math and you will see that in order to obtain and slab NM copies of the included comics it currently would cost you a cool $728 for the NM Raw copies by current guide price,(assuming you get NM+ copies at no extra charge).. and I estimate approximately $1060 in grading/shipping fees($20 per book shipped). That totals $1788, my asking price.
I'm hoping someone here is interested in the whole thing, a good chunk, or a number of parts that are low on my "prefer to keep list."
If no one is interested in at least part of it, I will probably toss it up on ebay and try my luck there. If possible, I'd totally be willing to part it out and fill in gaps for people, if there was reasonable incentive to do so. I am highly motivated to keep these in the community since likely more than 90% of them came from members here.
4 issues are from the Valiantfans.com collection with certificates from some guy named Greg. Rai 2 is a 9.8, X-O 6 is a 9.8 and X-O 2 is cgc SS. I'd love to part it out and try to keep those, or at least keep them in the community, but then it also wouldn't be a "SET" without them so I would need to sell at least a decent amount to make it worth while breaking up.

If anyone wanted to do a 6-9 month pay-as-you-go-over-time plan, I could work with that..
Or if someone wanted to just buy my key extras as a lot for $425 shipped and then get the option of purchasing at the discounted price on everything I upgrade on in the future with no obligation... I could do that too.

My thinking on runs like this is that the collection, as an entirety, is always worth much more than the face price of the books.
To get them all in one buy... think of the time saved scouring ebay for a year or more, think of the hassle saved dealing with dozens and dozens of anonymous sellers, think of the shipping fees saved, or the damaged packages...
If it was me, I'd put it up on ebay for a month at $2300 and see what happens. It's awesome that you're making this available to forum members at that price.
