As you can see...I don't play with the computer much for art like this. I use it enough everyday for work so I'd rather sketch with a pencil!

I am planning on submitting a new pic this week!

My XO pencil sketch that I did not submit yet may go on the back burner. After my artist wife saw it and mentioned a few... issues... I just can't throw it up to the Valiant fumbler without fixing it... and fixing that drawing is a painful idea right now.

In the grand tradition of VEI's crazy pace of releasing teaser previews of upcoming books, may I present my very own teasers of a Shadowman pencil sketch I whipped up this weekend for the upcoming Fan Art Friday;

thank you, thank you, one and all...

I should note that these images are from a crappy iPhone photo as my scanner is still out of commission, thus the super poor image quality [and these are at 300dpi!!]

HA! I usually ink over my drawings for fan art Friday, but I didn't have time as I sketched that on a break at work...I guess Rai raided Mothergod's closet in the Lost Land!

Here's a REALLY rough sketch of what I have planned.

The idea is that the girl PULSE is like on some higher ground (or flying, I dunno if she can fly though, perhaps her power enables her to magnetically lift herself, like Magneto does.)

She will be completely inked black, except for the eyes/pulse/electrical powers and bloodshot will be writhing in pain below, slumped over and tensed up.

The idea is I guess for a "Concept Cover"

anyway here it is, not much detail.

I can see this winning hands down, nothing I can draw will beat this DaVincian masterpeice. (Or is it a Zircherian? lol)

Dude, this is looking great - one of your best sketches I've seen to date on here!

If I may make a suggestion - I'd trim down the top afro on Bloodshot a bit. Looking at how you've drawn his head tilted back, if he were to pivot his head forward for a straight on perspective, the hair would look positively bulbous, and I would absolutely expect to see a comb sticking out of it.

Please don't take offence, I'm just messing with you a bit, but offering an honest critique. I really like the dynamic tension between the two figures, Pulse is in a great pose.

I took all (or most) of your critiques and changed them, before I even read this post. More often than not, the sketch never fully resembles the final or near final product.
