Greg's Boon Theory - (Possible spoiler? Maybe?)
Here's a theory that I'm cookin' up on the Boon.
You see that glowing blue orb in the center?
What if it is an X-O Manowar armor!?!
What do we know about the Boon?
1 Comes from "Faraway"
2 Enough power to decimate the planet
3 Kills (nearly) everyone when it's used
4 Gives life/power to a few who are using it
5 Round in shape and blue
6 Ancient, existed thousands of years ago
7 A technology more advanced than the civilization who has it
8 Associated with "the gods" and immortality
What do we know about the X-O Manowar armor?
1 Comes from "Faraway"
2 Enough power to decimate (pretty much anything so far)
3 Kills (nearly) everyone when it's used/worn
4 Gives a new hand/power to Aric
5 Round in shape and blue when not being worn
6 Ancient, existed thousands of years ago
7 A technology more advanced than the civiliation who has it
8 A priest considers it the most important relic
The pieces of the Boon were separated and hidden by Aram, but it probably won't work without the glowing blue orb...
and the X-O armor arrives on Earth about the time the Boon pieces are starting to be re-assembled.
Is the center of the Boon an X-O Manowar armor?

And there's also that symbol in the Boon that resembles a cross over a circle...

So I just looked up "Boon" on dictionary.com and found this:
Boon - Noun - The ligneous waste product obtained by braking and scutching flax.
I'm more confused than ever...

A Boon is usually and typically the opposite of Bane.Paladon wrote:So I just looked up "Boon" on dictionary.com and found this:

Re: Greg's Boon Theory - (Possible spoiler? Maybe?)
It's certainly an interesting theory, and would go a long way toward replacing the "cosmic event" from VH1 (ie: Phil Seleski being responsible for the existence of "superpowers") by making X-O the central title in the new universe (ie: If the/an X-O armor was responsible for creating the immortal brothers, its not a huge leap to think it had some part in the creation of Psiots/Harbingers in general).
That being said, I am going to guess that your theory is wrong.
Still interesting though.

An interesting comparison; not sure how I would feel if it's true -- mostly because I can't wrap my brain around what it would mean for the characters and the line in general. But it certainly would be a novel twist on the Valiant Universe we know...

Haven't they been saying from the get go that XO would be the lynch pin of the Valiant Universe?
I seem to remember something along those lines in the early interviews with Warren and Vditti.

Re: Greg's Boon Theory - (Possible spoiler? Maybe?)
Nice. It's starting to feel something like the return of the age of magic in A Song of Fire and Ice when dragons, winter, and magic coincided.
In greg's theory, the return of the X-O armor and Armstrong's quest to find all the pieces of the Boon that he has hidden years ago is not a coincidence. I'd hazard to say that the appearance in the world of Peter Stanchek, a psiot who does not need to be unlocked, is the Harbinger of this age of superpowers.
Now if we can only find out Bloodshot's role in all of this.

Re: Greg's Boon Theory - (Possible spoiler? Maybe?)
Why did the X-O armor just POP out of space and land in Rome? It wasn't like Aric was wishing to go fight Rome just then a la Solar's "I wish this would stop"
. Or Aric's "Ho! This is a fine skin. If only it were mine when I was a young man. I would have brought the Roman empire to its k<Blink>" Maybe it was called by someone summoning the Boon.

I'm pretty sure he was thinking of his wife and then said 'Rome' right before the jump.jakgrimm wrote:Why did the X-O armor just POP out of space and land in Rome? They are probably related...I think someone said they thought the Vine had maybe created the Boon or it had come from the same place Shanhara had come from (if the Vine didn't create it but had merely found it) in another thread, so I think you are on to something, since more than one person thinks this...

Hopefully it was our ancestors the Anunnaki that created it.

While I like the theory, and it would tie the universe together very well, I think Armstrong has the power source in the satchel. He said as long as he has that, then the Sect won't get the Boon. Makes me think he kept the most important piece with him, close by, so he could be sure to protect it and not forget where it was hidden.

The Sect/1% had the satchel.BugsySig wrote:While I like the theory, and it would tie the universe together very well, I think Armstrong has the power source in the satchel. Why wouldn't they assume everything in it is important to him?
Aram didn't check the satchel's contents before being happy he had it back.
Could the satchel itself be a piece?
Maybe the clasp or some buckle?

Re: Greg's Boon Theory - (Possible spoiler? Maybe?)
I know we shouldn't always refer to the original, but the Sect always ignored his satchel in the past. If it is "magical" in some way maybe they looked in it and didn't see anything. Maybe only Aram or certain others can access it? Maybe it's like the TARDIS and people look right past it?greg wrote:The Sect/1% had the satchel.BugsySig wrote:While I like the theory, and it would tie the universe together very well, I think Armstrong has the power source in the satchel.
