Offer to buy books
No, I am not buying books from people, I am offering to buy books FOR people.
Here's the deal.
The comic book store near me has a lot of Valiants priced at the cover price, including later issues, yearbooks, one shots, etc (For example, they had 3 non-Chromium Shadowman 0 issues, each priced at $2.50). I don't think they have any Unity books priced at cover value, but they may have some cheaper than Greggy's guide. For example, I think that have some Magnus early issues (2, 3, 4, etc) at about $4 to $6 each. I don't think they have any cheap golds or variants or anything like that. Alot of the more in-demand issues (like Solar 0) I haven't seen. I think they do have a lot of the later VH1 issues, and possible some VH2 and/or VH3 issues.
What I am offering to do is go to the store and buy some issues for people, if they want. You will pay for shipping, and we can work out some sort of "fee" (either a flat fee, a price per book, whatever).
Please note, I do NOT want to go through EVERY single Valiant issue to see how much it costs. If you are interested, what you need to do is send me a message with
a) the specific issues you want me to look for
b) the maximum you want to pay for these issues
You can include pre-Unity books if you like, and I will check to see what the prices are and buy them if they are less than your maximum.
Basically, I think there are some good deals to be had, I just don't have the time or money to go looking.
A couple of caveats
a) I make no guarantee about the condition of books. I will buy them, and ship them directly to you. If there are any obvious blemishes that I can see, I will not buy the book (ripped pages, marks on the covers, etc).
b) I am not sure if I will be able to tell if an issue has coupons, cards, or anything like that. If you request an issue that has one, let me know. I can try and find out, but if I am not sure, I will do the safe thing and not buy it.
c) The comics are NOT boarded (and the bags are sort of cheesy - extra large type bags). If you want them bagged and boarded, I can check to see how much a 100 pack of bags and boards costs, and add that to the comic (probably something like $.15)
d) If I buy something for you, I expect you to be up front about sending me the money to reimburse me. As such, I will only take people who are reputable posters on this forum.
e) If you send me a list, expect that I will buy ALL the comics on the list. I don't want someone sending me a list of 50 comics, me buying 40 of them (costing $X) and then getting a message saying "Oh, I only wanted to spend a total of $Y)
d) Please don't send a list with 100 issues, or anything like that. I am a graduate student of limited means, so there is just so much that I can "front" for someone to buy some issues.
First come, first served. As I said, I don't have time to go there every day or anything, so I will do this as soon as possible. If there are any questions, or if anyone has any suggestions of a better way to do this, let me know.
