I'm totally into #walkinwednesday today!! I was pretty *SQUEE* I missed out on the A&A day last month due to work.

Here's hoping for gold... :hope:

Note I don't have an A&A #1 2nd print in that stack... they're getting it next week instead due to a late order.

I have no reason to gripe about not winning, VEI sent me a Bloodshot #1 AJA and the Neal Adams Archer & Armstrong

Can't say I don't want an X-O Gold though,

Same here + I got a Harby #1 QR. I couldn't care less if I never win another variant. I'll still play every contest esp Fan Art Friday. I love the Walk In Wednesday thing because it gets retailers more into selling Valiant. And the more retailers get into it the more they sell, and the more they sell they'll stay around and I can read awesome comics. YAY! :D

Do you guys know if this is restricted to the U.S?
I get my books monthly, so I think I have no chance at this, anyway... :?

I already posted a pic of my last month's purchases on their FB page (and "Valiant" Liked it, ahaha).
I'm slowly lobbying for one gold X-O.

The next (and most important step) is a piece i'm preparing about the Summer of Valiant over at my FB page (which is nowadays more of a sub for my main blog).

Here is the Temple FB link if anyone is interested (and as you can see i've been a bit enthusiastic about them):

Seriously, these guys deserve to succeed just because they intend to bring the best of in-continuity comics that are food for thought and straight awesome. I never been so excited with monthly comics as I am now. :)

I'm not promoting it because i can get a book or something- it's genuinely fan enthusiasm for a great product: i'm buying variants for the first time oin my life. That's got to say something, right?

It's not restricted to the US. I've won loads of stuff from their twitter contests.

I live in Toronto Canada (about 7 or 8 hours away from Valiant HQ in Manhattan)

So that settles that.

unlike some cheap larger companies I don't think Valiant limits who can win and where they are. *cough* DC *cough*

Yeah, for the most part Batman had his ongoing series in my language, be it from Brazil or from Portugal (a looong time ago...); those were first printed in smaller, newspaper-like material, but then adopted the american format in the early 90s. As for TPBs, Devir, a Brazilian publisher has been putting out some neat collections in the last 12 years or so.

The New 52 is currently being published in almost its entirety, but with a difference.
The 2 Batman books are a collection of several titles, for instances, you have "A Sombra do Batman" (direct translation is The Shadow of Batman) which collects Batgirl, Batman & Robin, Batwing, Batwoman, Catwoman, Nightwing and Red Hood & the Outlaws. The main "Batman" title collects Batman itsef, Tec and The Dark Knight.

But I'm more of an english reader myself. There's always something lost in a translation, no matter how good it may be. 8-)

I can understand that. I only speak english but i've heard that about translations on a lot of stuff. same with different languages translated into English. Where can I find these TPB's? are they pricey? Having a portugese copy of Dark Knight Returns or Year One or something like that would make me very happy.

I'm Canuckian though C-lo I don't know much about spanish. I know some very basic French and some cuss words in French and Italian bc of my Uncle. And I know a few bad words in Mi'gmaq (native MicMac indian language) bc I grew up not far from a native reserve
