If (when?) they do an Eternal Warior hardcover I would want VanHook to write the story (assuming Shooter isn't possible).

I think that's probably a good assumption....

I've been rereading the early Eternal Warriors ... great stuff! Might do the Bloodshot run next.

Bloodshot is tougher, but rewarding. It gets better around the seventh issue.

I hate doing this but: I think Perlin was a weak link on Bloodshot. Just not my cuppa tea, I guess.

I liked his clean look on bloodshot. I'd totally buy them if VEI did a run with Perlin & Vanhook in any capacity. :thumb:

I read a few Bloodshot issues tonight and I'm gonna rowback on my comment a little. I like his panel composition and I like the amount of background detail. But there's just something I can't quite put my finger on...

Character expressions are good, the posing is a little stilted but still adequate. I think maybe it's that he relies on lots of crosshatching / scratchy lines rather than just letting the inker take care of it.

I dunno. Maybe it's just me.

I agree wholeheartedly with you. Especially when Valiant had many artists who were better, yet they still put their most boring artist with their most exciting character. I can still remember thinking that Valiant was making the same mistake with Bloodshot, that Marvel did with Punisher, concerning their choice of artists.

I actually really appreciated Perlin's art on Bloodshot. His version of Bloodshot seemed a lot more believable then some of the more stylized/out there versions that came later.
