The praise David Aja thread
I'm no art enthusiast. I know good comic art and bad comic art when I see it, but I'm not usually one for the finer points of art detail. But I've gotta say, David Aja's work never fails to jump off the page at me. I've been looking through some of his previous Marvel work...especially his cover work. To me it goes trancends comic art. I could actually see hanging some of his stuff on my wall. It's that good in my eyes. I know he's working on Marvel's Hawkeye right now, but one day I'd love to see him do some interior work for Valiant. I could see him doing something great with a lower tier property like Dr. Mirage or something that could use a revamp. In my dreams, I suppose.

Then do yourself a favor and pick up the new Hawkeye series that came out this week. It's from the incredible team of Fraction and Aja, who did the amazing Iron Fist series together.tchalla8 wrote:I'm no art enthusiast. I sent him a message on twitter a few weeks ago. He replied with genuine thanks.
Hey, look! I have a podcast!
And a Website!

If I win an argument, it doesn't mean I'm right. It means I'm a better arguer.
In addition, I'm right.

It's really sort of depressing he doesn't sell original art of take commissions.

I asked him if he was going to be ANYwhere to get my comics signed - and he said he wouldn't be in the US at ALL this year.

I *SQUEE* LOVE David Aja's art. His Immortal Iron Fist issues are unbelievable, and his Valiant covers have been nothing short of epic. Oh, and I have no problem kissing his
and I feel the same way about Patch Zircher...as if having Valiant return wasn't awesome enough, my two favorite current artists are working on them

Maybe he has no original art to sell - does he work all digital like Patch Zircher?tchalla8 wrote:It's really sort of depressing he doesn't sell original art of take commissions.

He does phisical art but doesn't sell it. Something pretty common among some spanish and european pencillers who do not feel comfortable with the current original art secondary market and its many predators and, hence, decided not to sell art at all.
Just my 2 cents (of an euro)
