A&A 1:100
I am so happy after what turned out to be a crappy day. My LCS was supposed to have my A&A 1:100 but did not get it in
. So I called all over the state of Maryland and got ZERO results. Some places do not even carry Valiant. So I had to call back up north. When I worked in NY I used to hit up Mid Town Comics and they had 3 in stock in Times Square. If anyone wants one call them now before they sell out!

Eh...what's the price if you don't mind me asking....not super interested in this, just kicking the proverbial tires.carter3175 wrote:I am so happy after what turned out to be a crappy day. Price was $125.00 S&H fees were waived. I'm just happy that they had it..You should have heard the stores saying that they would never order that many copies of A&A or they did not carry it. I called close to 15 stores in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area!

Interesting, thanks for the sleuthing! I'm amazed so many of these stores didn't understand that it was a title-wide variant, does Diamond not tell them how it works?carter3175 wrote:Price was $125.00 S&H fees were waived. That is up to the publisher, isn't it. Diamond is a distributor not marketing nor sales for each publisher.GGSAE wrote:Interesting, thanks for the sleuthing! I guess Lee, I have no idea how this *SQUEE* works....it's gonna be tough to gauge how many copies are out there for this...400yrs wrote:That is up to the publisher, isn't it. You bring a great point..I guess we will have to wait a month or two before we can find out. I see a bidding war for one on ebay.

Re: A&A 1:100
I went to go pick up my copy today at my LCS. They were told that they will receive the 1:100 variant when their 100th issue is delivered. So I picked up both covers and the 1:20 variant today, I'll be getting the 1:100 variant at the end of the month

That gives me hope. I did not get the 1:100 on my pull.

Re: A&A 1:100
Glad I can ease the pain. They ordered a total of 100 Valiant titles, not 100 issues of A&A. They're trying to spread the wealthElveen wrote:TravAzz wrote:I went to go pick up my copy today at my LCS. Both the stores I frequent didn't get it in, both called Diamond and apparently will get them in at some point soon. Not sure what the deal is, of if it is like the other poster said and will come when the 100th book comes. I guess I'll find out soon.

Re: A&A 1:100
I am uncomfortable disrespecting a legend, but the more I see this cover, the more I dislike it. Who the heck told Adams that Archer was middle aged and had a goatee? Aram's arm?
Nah, not for $125. Now that I realize I don't have the scratch to get all the variants, I can be choosy about the ones I do.
I think VEI's variant mania may be backfiring to some degree. Once I realized I wasn't going to "get them all", I don't really care which ones I miss. I'm not even paying attention to them anymore, actually.
And just as an aside, if I had a $125 to invest in the a&A release, I'd rather have 31 copies of the regular and pullbox than a single copy of an odd looking variant. Assuming the line catches on and there is a surge in desire for back issues, you'll find way more people looking for the #1 regular than the #1 variant.

*SQUEE*....Do you spit venom much! I hear and respect what your saying, we all have our opinions but I must ask, what makes you think the VEI mania will backfire? Please explain, I like to be educated.

Re: A&A 1:100
Relax, am I spitting venom? All I pointed out (as many others here on the board have previously) is that faced with the daunting task of collecting all of the variants, many have simply given up on the notion. Something intended to coax readers into buying more books is causing some of them to buy fewer.carter3175 wrote:*SQUEE*....Do you spit venom much! Valiant mania, as you put it, will ultimately not be due to variants but just good stories.

Yep. I have a feeling there won't be many out there in shops and VEI will likely have a bunch of these on hand to do with as they please. I'm pretty certain they'll be printing at 1:100 and will keep all the copies from all the shops who didn't quite make it to 100.

Re: A&A 1:100
You know I keep hearing this is line wide but my LCS (which in part to me orders waaayyy over 100 Valiants every month) only got 1. He was told it was just a 1:100 for A&A. What is the deal so I know when I see him Friday. Is it 1:100 A&A or 1:100 Valiants? I mean if it is the latter he should have gotten at least three!

This thread alone is why I can't be bothered to chase Variants.
Calling around different STATES? That's just ABSURD. I could understand different counties or towns but STATES? You're insane.

Re: A&A 1:100
Well good news for me.
I just won the 1:100 (and so did a bunch of others, everyone who participated) on twitter!
We all took pics at our LCS of us picking up our comics! Here's mine (I'm the white guy
)

How awesome is that?

So you have to be on Twitter to win?
Hey VEI, there are some fans who don't tweet and don't FB.

This might get me on twitter.
Re: A&A 1:100
And there are also some VEI fans not on the boards. Where would you suggest they do contests and giveaways? Twitter and FB are the most public forums I can think of.david_albuq wrote:So you have to be on Twitter to win?Hey VEI, there are some fans who don't tweet and don't FB.
Truthfully, I didn't do twitter either until I wanted to follow VEI and get in on some of this stuff. It's pretty easy to do.

Re: A&A 1:100
So do you think VEI should run promotions like that to reach new fans on a Valiant Fans messageboard or on FB and twitterdavid_albuq wrote:So you have to be on Twitter to win?Hey VEI, there are some fans who don't tweet and don't FB.

no offense man but that wasn't the brightest comment i've ever seen.
