I've been reading, too - and Mirage seems to skew to an older crowd - what do ya know? We ARE all older.Aram wrote:jmatt wrote:I don't know if I want to see it relaunched, but I've just re-read Dr. Mirage through issue five and liked it more than I remembered. Thank you. I seriously don't get what's up with all the hate on Dr. Mirage. It started out pretty dang great in my opinion. I think it was the most original idea Valiant came up with and perfectly matched with Darque and Shadowman.
A modern relaunch could kick some *SQUEE* and perfectly follow up Shadowman. Some people really like couple books. Look at Saga. Wives tend to like them... and when the wives like comics... everyone wins.
Hey, look! I have a podcast!

If I win an argument, it doesn't mean I'm right. It means I'm a better arguer.
In addition, I'm right.

I thought Dr. Mirage was one of the weaker titles. If they bring him back I hope they do a total revamp. Maybe something along the lines of what Acclaim was going to do.kevinbastos wrote:Aram wrote:jmatt wrote:I don't know if I want to see it relaunched, but I've just re-read Dr. Mirage through issue five and liked it more than I remembered. That's a good point. I hadn't really thought of it in that way. Though, once the status quo is established in XO, A&A and Harbinger I don't think we will have any idea the paths that will be taken.400yrs wrote:ian_house wrote:Personally I agree with most of the original list (+ Q&W) but I'd like to see some new characters and series just to tie up some continuity and to show they aren't just regurgitating old ideas.
Same. It's early yet, but this point, aside from Bloodshot we haven't seen any new main characters nor new plots. Bloodshot is probably my favorite so far because it's probably the only book that I feel like I didn't know exactly what was going to happen.

I agree completely, and would like to add one further one caveat: Not only are we older, but we also know How It All Ends.kevinbastos wrote:I've been reading, too - and Mirage seems to skew to an older crowd - what do ya know? We ARE all older.
In my re-read, I'm finding myself much less emotional about changes that angered me the first time through. With hindsight, I'm now just enjoying the books for what they are, not what I expected or hoped they would be.
It's kinda like looking at old family photos or video footage. My mind, unencumbered with the mundane minutia of the moment, can just look back fondly and enjoy it for what it is.

I'll admit it. For about 3 years I thought corps was pronounced corpse. Hard to believe I was in the academically gifted programparadise wrote:I happen to love the concept of HARD Corps, one power at a time controlled by a dispatcher-type person. I am not sure about the execution of the book in VH1. But the concept was fresh and has not been done since that I am aware of. Change the name and bring that concept back is my vote. I loved how they had to team up using one power at a time.
It'll be a good time to bring em around once Harada shows his true colors. Once Harada starts to get in hot water with the Feds, Harada and Harbinger could buy their own small country and gain diplomatic immunity. Then what used to be called HARD Corps could be developed, this time a US black ops team that tries to counter whatever evil deeds Harada/Harbinger are up to.
It's got legs, let it run!

Sounds like your inner GI Joe Fan started influencing your inner Valiant Fan ideas, dude! You've painted the Harbinger Foundation with some shades of Cobra and HARD Corps with some tints of GI Joe...Carson wrote:I'll admit it. For about 3 years I thought corps was pronounced corpse. Sorry, just giving you 'the business' as a friend is fond of saying... I like your ideas on bringing HC back, I'd love to see that concept get the VEI treatment too.
