SDCC Valiant Panel
I tweeted out the Valiant Panel info as it was happening. You'll have to scroll down a bit, but it should be obvious where it starts and stops.
Hopefully I'll have some audio/video in a bit, I'm not sure how it turned out.

A couple pics I took too wet your appetite for the video:

Dysart, Venditti, Simons, and Fred.

Peter Cuneo addressing the room!

I really hope they don't cop out on this.Q: is Peter a rapist? Josh: I was told to respond a certain way. Warren: wait to see what's in the books. Josh: this is a redemption arc.

My audio from the panel may not have turned out great. I'm running some processing on it now to see how it is gonna come out.

Re: SDCC Valiant Panel
Ok, so I made an audio recording, and it came out terrible. It is unlistenable.
On the other hand, Jonesy operated the video recorder, and did a fantastic job!
We'll have video of this in a few days, after I get home from SDCC (I don't have video processing equipment here).

Re: SDCC Valiant Panel
Thanks for the twitter updates... I just got home and had a chance to read them.
VERY COOL of Valiant to give the first gold books to fans at the panel. Sure, big retailers may have a way to get them, but some fans have them first!

Re: SDCC Valiant Panel
Can you clarify this...Did they mean 4 more books a year after the initial 6 or 4 books each year after the initial 6?They will have 6 books within a year of the relaunch, and then 4 books a year after that.
I would assume the former, meaning 10 books by 2 years after the launch.

Re: SDCC Valiant Panel
I've done multimedia in the past and it can be tough to capture audio in an informal setting. Particularly when you don't want to get in the way of people who are attending.
Re: SDCC Valiant Panel
I'm disappointed that several hours after the panel not a single X-O gold is up on eBay. C'mon, people!greg wrote:Thanks for the twitter updates... I just got home and had a chance to read them.

Let me be more specific since people are being dense. It was stated that he addressed the room. What did he have to say?greg wrote:Really?Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote:Didn't know that. But still doesn't really answer the question.

The link... in the FIRST post... has quotes from Peter Cuneo.
So, if you want an answer to your question... it's in the FIRST place you should have looked.

I could of swore that Fred said 18 books by year 3 was a good number or something to that effect.BugsySig wrote:Can you clarify this...Did they mean 4 more books a year after the initial 6 or 4 books each year after the initial 6?They will have 6 books within a year of the relaunch, and then 4 books a year after that.

He also said there would be another title by year's end, which I believe is Eternal Warrior and a 6th title by April. Rai I suppose.
I asked him about Shadowman and Master Darque and he really wouldn't tell me anything other than they are coming. I said how soon? and he just repeated they are coming. I asked him if Darque might make an appearance even before Shadowman does and he wouldn't answer that either

I got my gold! neener, neener

Yeah I don't use twitter. It's confusing as *SQUEE*. (using the old reliable technique... not that confusing-as-heck twitter... I gave your answer in smoke signals.)

Re: SDCC Valiant Panel
I forgot to mention there were a few Valiant alum in the audience including Mark Moretti.
As far as turnout goes, it wasn't huge but it wasn't bad considering there was a star studded panel going on at the same time, I think Resident Evil. Plus I don't think even Valiant realized it, but they had the damn corridor blocked that leads to the Valiant ballroom for like 10-15 minutes before the panel started because some "star" was hanging out in the hallway and a crowd had gathered. I think there were probably a few Valiant fans who probably got frustrated they couldn't get by and just blew off the panel. I know that I nearly did!
