X-O manowar ring
I've seen an X-0 ring being auctioned off of ebay recently and I was wondering how rare is this ring? It's an X-O bronze ring. Did they make silver and gold versions?

I'm not sure about "rarity" either...
They have sold a few times each year on Ebay
for anywhere from $15 to $50 each.
The silver version is rarely seen.
The Ninjak rings, both bronze and silver, are also seen less often than X-O bronze.
If there is a limited amount of gold rings (either X-O or Ninjak),
no one has been able to provide a scan or proof for the website.

Despite Ax's charming remarks, I happened to pick up a bronze and a silver back in the day. They're not bad. They're thick and the cases are nice.
If you're thinking about picking one up on eBay, there's one thing you should be aware of. When I got mine, the store I bought the bronze one from tried to tell me that they had a rare one because of the number one engraved on the inside of the ring.
These guys thought that each ring was individually numbered and that they had number one! I told them they were full of it because every X-O ring has a number one engraved on the inside. I think if they would have produced more, they may have numbered the next set with a two. Know what I mean?
Anyway, don't let any sellers try to con you into thinking you're getting "the" number one ring.

I also remember a "Advance" notice that the gold rings were either 'fakes' or based on some Valiant promotion for top selling stores.

Well, this big dork loves his! As far as the quality, the only problem is the material used....bronze. The rings were produced in bronze because that was the only metal that would make the rings affordable to the average fan. The worksmanship and the sculpt are actually very nice. Looks just like the one from the books!Ax wrote:I have no idea how rare they are. I admit I am a total geek!!!
I like them as well. I have the ninjak silver and the xo bronze. I was about 12 when it (the xo ring) came out and the only other rign I owned was a glow in the dark green lantern plastic ring that I got with a subscription to green lantern mosaic. Needless to say I was very happy to get any ring that was more realistic.
The quality of the rings are not bad. I think the xo ring is a little more sturdy as the band is extremely thick. The ninjak ring seems a little less thick. at least in the band.

My girldfriend (at the time) would actually get mad and offended that I would even put it on my finger. I used to hide it in my pocket, and slip it on later that night while we were out. She'd eventually see it on me and I would get a punch or something, along with a plea for me to take it off. Sometimes I would, sometimes I wouldn't!

I have the bronze version of the XO, I wish I had gone for silver.

That page is missing the bookmark that came with the Wizard special.
Mine has Dr Silk (I think it's Silk. It's definitely Quesada art).

I've got a silver X-O ring. It's pretty sturdy and has a nice weight to it. I do wear it out often, but I don't find it to be particularly nerdy. The average guy on the street, who probably won't even notice it, isn't going to say
"Hey! Is that an X-O ring? You read comic books don't you??!!! NEEEEERRRRRRDDDD!!!!!".
Don't get me wrong, I'm still a nerd. But wearing a ring with an 'X' on it isn't that outlandish.
But when I hit the pub in my Spiderman outfit......
