Which titles should not come back?

Post by tchalla8 »

In all the excitement about the new titles coming up soon, I got to thinking about the properties they should in no way give their own book. Include them in the universe, yes, but I can't imagine giving them their own title. Which former Valiant titles would you NOT bring back?

In my personal opinion...
Don't give titles to:
Visitor
Geomancer
Secret Weapons
Psi-Lords
H.A.R.D. Corps

You can include them in your universe maybe, but I think they would be better off creating new characters with their own titles rather than create books around these again.

Any others? I would actually love them see to try and create Armorines again.

Armorines but no HARD Corps? Bah!

It wouldn't bother me not to see either one but I'd take the latter over the former any day.

punx & nio. All the rest lower end books could be revamped to something cool but it'll take some serious REVAMPING!

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if Dr. Mirage didn't make a comeback. But I'm not going to say there's a book they just should NOT publish. If I don't like it, I don't have to buy it.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

i think Dr. Mirage has potential.

if they start over, ditch the awful costume, drop the whole thing with his hot wife, and do it a little darker then it could be good.

Brings up the Acclaim solicit/Mirage script.

HARD Corps could be good if done right. And Secret Weapons could be a good vehicle to group some characters who couldn't carry a solo book.

Psi-Lords wouldn't make any sense without the future timeline.

Geomancer never should have been a title to begin with.

The Visitor could be an interesting character, but the whole draw to begin with was the mystery of who he was...that would be moot in the relaunch.

I would say none of the Acclaim series except Q&W, but even that might not fit into the relaunched universe very well.

I think just about ANY book could be good, if done correctly.

The problem is, a lot of the later Acclaim books weren't "done correctly".

Based on how Acclaim had them, I would not want to see PSI Lords, Geomancer, or Visitor.

All other books I enjoyed to varying degrees, so I wouldn't mind seeing them again.

Any concept could be good in the right writers hands. That being said, I'd rather not see another Pete Stanchek Visitor.

Shadow Man V2.

Dr. Mirage was a light-hearted book, and the way comics are now, wouldn't be a bad thing to have.

Having Dr. Mirage as the antithesis to Darque was a great, great idea. They could certainly start with that concept and completely change it from there. The basis for his character is certainly worth exploring again.

Was The Visitor always meant to be an ongoing title? I always had the impression it was a mini-series closely knit with current continuity.

It was lame when it turned out to be Pete. Big bug-eyes, three fingers and a prehensile big toe? There was a human under all that? Silly.

I dunno. Not a top tier character but it definitely could fit in. Kinda like the Silver Surfer.

I merely meant that the Surfer started off as a background character, the herald of Galactus. Geomancer is something of a herald of Earth's future. Just as the Surfer fits into Marvel's universe, Geomancer could just as easily fit in similarly in the Nuvu with his own title.

When I started collecting, the only characters I collected were Iron man, and The Silver Surfer.

I hate Fractions take on SS right now...it's fing rediculous.

And of course the Geomancer is an integral part of the VU but his own title? Not so much. Maybe a mini at some point, though...

See, that's kinda wrong considering John Buscema drew SS comic series (not the first appearance) in the very beginning, and kirby drew the last issue of SS.

But between Kirby or Moebius' SS...the thing is, the stories were BOTH 'edited' (never will I call him a writer) by that :censored: Stan Lee... But visually wise, Kirby. :thumb:
