Magnus Steel Nation TPB Cover Original Color Test

Post by Paladon »

I have a friend that has worked in the comic industry for like 30 years hand me this today as a "hey, you like Valiant right?" gift.

It is an original color test for the Magnus Steel Nation TPB cover. These days it is all done digitally, but it's very cool to see (and feel) the actual ink on paper. Interesting to see the color differences between this and the final colors.

Color Test Art: (sorry for the low quality image, took it with my iPhone)

Thanks! Will get framed for sure.

I've actually been here for quite a while, first started my inventory in 2005 (ElyhekRue, currently #46), just never posted until now. I feel that I actually know some of you lol, and even ran into (I think) Elveen at WonderCon this year.

 Wow, That's too cool on multiple levels. Thank you for posting!!
If you look closely the inks are a bit different than the published cover.
Goes perfect with this: (Which as I understand was a sorta a preliminary inked piece)

True, but I also love to know it's with a board member. I'm happy enough with the original 8-)

Thanks Paladon and Dan for posting.

I still wish this had come out with the extra pages. Alas, probably lost to history now...
