Is NVU the new Official Title of VH3?
Just wondering...
Have we, the Valiant Fans, yet coined the phrase for this New Valiant Universe?

Naaa Acclaim discontinued for a minute n came back with V-H-3 Books [just a few] This is a fresh start so I wouldn't want to coin it V-H-4 myself. It's more like Ultimate Valiant If Anything

I'm pretty sure Dino said to call it "Valiant".

Well, that's just silly. I say we call it Ultraverse Wanna-Be, or UWB (Pronounces Uh-Wuh-Be).Blood of Heroes wrote:I'm pretty sure Dino said to call it "Valiant".

How about V12?
Like quantum and Woody #32 it makes you wonder what happened between it and VH3

I can certainly appreciate why Dino would call it that, but I think realistically it makes things confusing. When people have a question about the early years, Acclaim years or the new material, there needs some kind of distinction, so we know what they are referring to.

I suppose you could delineate by referring to VH1 as "old Valiant".

Re: Is NVU the new Offial Title of VH3?
The problem with NVU is that if for some reason in the future they reboot again, then the term "New Valiant Universe" won't make a lot of sense. If it absolutely needs a label, I don't see the point of straying from the original model and using VH4.Daniel Jackson wrote:I can certainly appreciate why Dino would call it that, but I think realistically it makes things confusing. You know, I always thought DNV stood for "Dino's New Valiant".Blood of Heroes wrote:Here it is...viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33973&hilit=dnv

That's what i refered to it as (NVU) in my thread about Valiant w/o Magnus and Solar. I wasn't sure what to call it. I think Nuvu is catchier than VH4.cjv wrote:NVU...pronounced "Nooh - vooh" (like "shoe")?

That's what made me realize the "new" Valiant needed a distinctive title! Also, having realized Acclaim's VH2 SUCKED almost immediately, I stopped reading about 3 or 4 months into it so I have NO idea about VH3 at all!
VH1 - Original Valiant
VH2 - Acclaim's Valiant
VH3 - ?
VH4 - New Valiant Universe
Also, the "new universe" kinda reminds me of Marvel's experiment in the 80's. Anyone remember that? Comics like Starbrand and Mark Hazard: Merc? Really crappy comics!

I am actually blogging and doing a podcast about the original Valiant, the new Valiant, and New Universe. I never read any of them in the past, really... But their initial design concept was the world outside your window, and was designed by Shooter. Sound familiar? I am already running across a startling number of strange parallels, plus a bunch of things I think Shooter learned from in designing the original Valiant Universe.

I been using Ultimate Valiant Universe or UVN. Based on the interviews I've read that was their goal.

Like this:
Classic Valiant was '91 - '96.
Acclaim was '97 - '02.
Valiant is the new books being sold at your comic shop with "Valiant" on the cover.

Can't say that I blame you for not following Acclaim after the awful start they got off to, but some of the titles did turn around eventually (Turok and Shadowman for example).Malev_Emperor wrote:jmatt wrote:That's what i refered to it as (NVU) in my thread about Valiant w/o Magnus and Solar.
