How close will the similarities be?

I wonder how close the similarities will be between the NVU and OVU.

Will Aric become the CEO of Orb?

Will a major character die early on in Harbinger?

Will Gilad be the fist of the earth (or whatever title the Geomancers gave him).

Will secondary characters be there (Ken comes to mind in XO)?

Will Archer run away from his parents due to abuse?

Will Aram have a "satchel" filled with mysterious things?

And, lastly, how much do I want the NVU to mirror the old one?

Will a major character die early on in Harbinger? Everyone is going to be waiting for Torque to bite it, but I always thought there was a lot further to explore with his character. Plus it would be a bigger shocker if someone else bit it instead like Flamingo.

Will Gilad be the fist of the earth (or whatever title the Geomancers gave him)? It just wouldn't be the same without Geomancers around the Valiant U, and it gives EW a purpose that would need to be replaced if they go away from that direction

Will secondary characters be there (Ken comes to mind in XO)? I think so. Especially if it is someone with as large a role as Ken. Though this role could be filled by someone else, or elements of characters could be combined. But in some form, I say yes.

Will Archer run away from his parents due to abuse? Yes and No? FVL has said he is raised by the Sect, as in his parents are in the Sect, but when it comes to completing his mission he just cant do it. What the cause of that will be is unclear and could be similar or different.

Will Aram have a "satchel" filled with mysterious things? Seems like it

And, lastly, how much do I want the NVU to mirror the old one? Enough to not *SQUEE* me off, but not so much that it is just a rehashing of the original.

Great thread to begin. Truly hinkng a TON about this stuff.

Will Aric become the CEO of Orb? Not Orb. But he will gain control of some giant corporation. I have a feeling it will resemble some company, but just far enough away to avoid comparisons.

Will a major character die early on in Harbinger? Yes. I also think it will NOT be Torque, though. Kris or Flamingo, I think.

Will Gilad be the fist of the earth (or whatever title the Geomancers gave him). No idea. Don't think it matters.

Will secondary characters be there (Ken comes to mind in XO)? Yes. Some of them. Ken will be there. Others? Randy? No.

Will Archer run away from his parents due to abuse? I think they will be into something similar. Internet kiddie stuff? They will probably also die 'before' the first issue. Yes, he will leave due to it.

Will Aram have a "satchel" filled with mysterious things? No question. But I believe it was already revealed somewhere else.

And, lastly, how much do I want the NVU to mirror the old one? Not at all. I like the concepts of the old universe, but it was great through Unity. Then everything changed. So, mirror those origins, then GO THEIR OWN WAY.

Also, how about adding other questions?

Will Aric become the CEO of Orb? I hope not. I never thought that that was a great idea to begin with. Probably a major reason that some saw Aric as an Iron Man knockoff...

Will a major character die early on in Harbinger? If so, I hope that it's not Torque. His death was done well, but I thought that the book lost a key dynamic when Torque died.

While I know there can't be any Solar character (at least for now) I really hope there will be SOME Solar-powered character. I think a "good" Mothergod (perhaps split from the "bad" version, just the way Solar had split personalities) would be awesome.

Perhaps baby Avagis will become a Solar-like character? Experimented on by the Vine only to unleash the super powered potential of humans...

I hope they keep it to no more than ultimately 8 - 12 titles with a cohesive universe by expanding 4 titles per year. Many an occasional mini. Keep the quality high

I am sure a capable writer could dazzle us all with HARD Corps or the Armorines. I have heard pitches for Ninjak that sounded good too.

I thought the idea for H.A.R.D. Corps was pretty cool. I think it could be done well. I don't think there is also a need for Armorines though.

Armorines would be interesting as a group "hunting" XO, at least at first. If their armor was reverse-engineered Vine technology or something like that, that would be cool.

I actually want them to kill Torque again, but I don't know that they'll take that direction.

I think the secondaries are important. Why not use characters you own?

I want the universe to be similar and familiar, but not the same. It looks like Valiant's doing a pretty good job of that so far.

Probably not Orb specifically, but maybe it will be some Vine run company. The whole seen with the babies makes me think the Vine want to be subtly controlling humanity. What perfect way to do it than through a Corporation?

I think yes. The bigger thing I think will be that the New Valiant want to use the excellent teenage angst of Torque and Kris cheating behind Pete's back.

This is a must. I don't see why other posters don't see the importance of Gilad's mission with his identity.

Yes, but maybe his parents will be "better" than his old ones. You know child killing/abusing and such. Maybe they are just evil.
