Bloodshot # 6 V.V.S.S.-related Question

Post by tonysamos1 »

It states under comments in the guide...

Signed by Kevin VanHook and Don Perlin in red ink on the cover. (Gold and silver inks also exist.)

My question is that my copy has only the 1 signature of Don Perlin on the cover.... Do copies exist with only the one signature?

Probably. (Sorry I can't be more specific.)

It's unknown how "important" this book was in the beginning...
The V.V.S.S. program (with its certificates and embossed seal) had not
been developed by Valiant at the time, so these books were signed
without a lot of accompanying documentation.

It's nearly impossible to determine "authentic" Bloodshot 6 V.V.S.S.-related
books from an imposter (if there are any), due to the lack of a certificate,
and especially due to the lack of the embossing.

On the other hand, there's nothing that would keep Mr. Perlin from
signing the book in red ink today, either.
Would it be authentic? Yes.
Should anyone pay a significant premium? You guys decide.

I didn't see too many of these before about 6 months ago, now they are all over. I wonder if everyone is now pulling out all copies to sell or if some were signed at conventions and people are trying to make a buck. It would be nice to get an inside perspective on this. Hell, half of them could be forged. :!:

As many of our board members are friendly with Mr Perlin we could probably find out if he's been signing a considerable number of BS #6's over the past year or so.

I personally figured VVSS's would tank so I've been selling mine off. Then Dino started the whole VcVSS which kinda threw off my forecasting.

I'd suggest sticking with the VVSS's that come with COA's if you must own them.

That was cool of him.

I'd like to thank you all for your input. I just purchsed the issue last week on e-bay for $42.44 with free shipping. It's been an issue I've wanted for the longest time and when it arrived with only one signature I was a little troubled.

Back at the '94 Chicago Comicon, I asked Perlin to sign 10 copies of Bloodshot #6 for me. Back then I thought it was the coolest cover and since Don was there I thought, what the heck. I think Bob signed a bunch of them too.
