What comics are you reading now?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

I really enjoyed his Batman and Robin run; I don't read Batman books as a matter of course, but I was intrigued enough to try that run and was glad that I did so. :)

Fn awesome. Was never a Captain America guy till now. Great reads.

I am glad you liked them my friend. This is best cap run of all time. I also agree with 400yrs, cap really went downhill after that omnibus.
Pull List: I only buy TPB's, HC's and Hellboy comics

After re-reading the Walking dead compendium, I decided to jump to #80 and read some more WD. I have read up to #86 in the past, but I think I have up to #92, so I will be reading some new books. I just finished #86 last night so today after school I'll get to some new WD..... pretty excited.

I am a BIG fan of this book...... so much emotion.

Read my way through Batman 676-681 this morning. This is my first time reading through the full RIP arc since publication, and certainly my first time reading it with a total refresh of the context of the story in relation to everything that happened from the beginning of the run. RIP most definitely reads better as a whole rather than month-by-month.

What I found this time around is that rather than being a confusing headtrip, it came across more as the ultimate Bada.s.s. Batman story. The key, I think is to be very fresh on the events and details of the preceding arcs.

As I mentioned before, from here I'm going straight into RIP: The Lost Chapter and then to Batman & Robin. I recommend both fans and detractors to give this run another try; I think it'll be more rewarding to read it as a package.

Cap is one of my fav characters. I've been a Cap fan since the Stern/Byrne run (yes, I'm that old, unfortunately). I didn't stop buying it until the "Heroes Reborn" Leifeld garbage. Then picked it up again afterwards. Originally, I wasn't thrilled with what Brubaker was doing, especially when he killed off Nomad, but then it got really good. I'll pick up the tpb of the new series and reserve judgement until then.

Finished up Invincible through TPB 14 and loved it. For some reason it took me a little bit to get into it, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It's a great pausing point too with the threads left dangling. Now it's an All-Lapham week. I am going to read Stray Bullets, Murder Me Dead, Young Liars and his "City of Crime" story from Detective Comics.

I can understand that, I think the first trade and maybe even the second make it seem somewhat standard superhero fair. It's once Kirkman has shaped the universe and built the rules he decides to play with it, works damn well and don't think it would have been enjoyable without that early stuff.

Not a first print, but well worth the $19 or whatever from Amazon. That was remarkably quick for DC to go to a second print on a HC. Ony 2 months out and the second print is already on the market. This run is a future classic for sure.

Re-reading all of the Ultraverse?

Oh yeah, I forgot. For those who have read Fallen Angel, did you guys see the fight between her and that guy on the shipyard who was looking for the shipping container? I think that was PAD's nod to Batman. In one of the panels, the guy's shadow behind him shows the outline of Batman's pointed ears and the guy fights like Batman with gadgets and whatnot. What do you guys think?

The Walking Dead 93. This felt like a throw away issue. At the end of the issue, you are in the same spot as the end of the last issue. I like the possibilities to come, but this issue was weak and monotonous.

What issue #? Was it DC or IDW?

I know at first, it was ambiguous as to whether Fallen Angel was in the DCU or not. They were hinting that she might be Supergirl dressed a bit differently.

The first series, DC. It was one of the early issues, #2 I think.

No, PAD stated that she was not Supergirl, however, Linda did appear in the second series for two issues. It was revealed that she was Lee's predecessor.

I am about to re-read Marvels. It's been a long time. I still hold this as the finest series I've read from Marvel. I also still hold it as my favorite work from Busiek-I've not read much Astro City-and the place where I think Alex Ross best exhibited a gift for dramatic storytelling, rather than just static attempts at iconography. Yes, I just gave a mini-diss to Kingdom Come.

Marvels is overrated. I'm interested to see if you still think as highly of it after a re-read. Early Astro City blows it away.
