The IDEALOGY Post
What if... Fans of Valiant put together some new idea's for their own creations or creative additions to Valiant Titles? ANything. Writing, to concept designs, Art, Ideas in general. Just getting down and creative, letting the imagination flow. Perhaps prizes could be awarded, perhaps maybe Valiant could utilize some of the idea's in later books as inspiration from the readers and fans. Face it. We lost some great titles to Darkhorse. Via Magnus, Turok. I mean anything such as new story ideas to Valiant. Writing or drawing new possiblities to the Valiant perspective would be kind of fun.
I was a fan of X-O Manowar when I was a teen. That was years ago. I did several concepts since that were inspired by the story and it would be fun to share some of the megalithic beast and insane conceptual designs I had. I always imagined them fighting X-O Manowar. I even had an insane idea to have a new X-O manowar class that was even more powerful. But was in the hands of the Spider Aliens. So powerful that Aric just couldn't claim it as his own. Only outsmart it, but never quit defeat it for good. Such as one of the (Forgot what they are called now. God. Those golden space guys that were kind of like Solar man of the atom. God like powers. Basically one of them is used as a sacrifice to an X-O Seed. The seed somehow consumes it and harnesses the god like power. making a nearly invincible and extremely deadly new X-O that even Aric couldn't defeat by himself with his X-O. Just thought that was a really wicked cool idea. But you get the point.
Share the Imagination. Maybe even some like minded fans could get together and create some panels or a fan based book right here on Valiant.

I like this idea. As a teen like yourself at the time, I was enthralled with Valiant Comics. As an artist myself I've come up with some crazy stuff based on Valiant Ideas and design. I posted some of the art I did in another thread (it's pretty terrible, but that was nearly 20 years ago, I'm a bit better now lol)

Ha! Kinda like the "God-class" manowar armor that Sven always dreamed of getting his hands on.

Re: The IDEALOGY Post
I could see VEI having a fan art page but I don't think they'd ever use content or ideas done by someone not under a strict work-for-hire contract. It would open up the possibility of endless litigation. What if a fan came up with something cool that caught on and wound up being part of a hundred million dollar movie deal? The creator would sue for a slice of the pie, maybe all of it.Xanithar wrote:perhaps maybe Valiant could utilize some of the idea's in later books as inspiration from the readers and fans.
That's why most songwriters will not even open, let alone listen to, submissions sent to them by budding artists who "just want to see what the professional thinks." It happens all the time in the music and movie business.

Seriously, I never could figure out how a whole race could be evil like the Spider Aliens (Vine). Couldn't one be good? That would be a interesting story.
Also, I always wondering if the Eternal Brothers had kids or were they like the Immortals from Highlander, suffering from the Genophage (dirty Salarians).

They cover this in the books. gilly's kids go crazy. His daughter was "Jack the ripper".

It would have been fun to discover the true reason the kids always went off their rocker.

I think that was just something the writers made up later when they got lazy for stories.Elveen wrote:Ross2 wrote:Seriously, I never could figure out how a whole race could be evil like the Spider Aliens (Vine). Couldn't one be good? That would be a interesting story.

Gilad's first child (from issue 1) wasn't crazy. And if his kids would go crazy, the Geomancers probably would have mentioned something like that right from the get go.

Re: The IDEALOGY Post
obviously none of Aram's/Gilad's/Ivar's children (Did Aram or Ivar even have any?) Were immortal or long lived (afaik) That would kinda kill their uniqueness.

I think that the true reason is that Gilad's kids go insane.xodacia81 wrote:It would have been fun to discover the true reason the kids always went off their rocker.
At least some of them.
Aram had kids, I think, and didn't Gilad have a kid in EW #1, that was killed? They just didn't have the "leopard spirit" or whatever that made them immortal.

Re: The IDEALOGY Post
It seems that perhaps something changed from Shooter's original plans. A lot of things got dropped when Layton took over. As far as other posts, asking about Aram and Ivar...no clue about Ivar, but as for Aram...well...given who his wife was...would it have been the same? Maybe it was just Gil, or, as you said, "some" of Gil's kids. He did tend to paint everything with and either/or brush.Dr. Solar wrote:I think that the true reason is that Gilad's kids go insane.xodacia81 wrote:It would have been fun to discover the true reason the kids always went off their rocker.

I thought that when Gil visited Aram in Egypt in EW #1, Aram had some kids with his Egyptian wife, and they weren't super.xodacia81 wrote:It seems that perhaps something changed from Shooter's original plans. Anyway, yes, it is clearly something that changed. I liked the notion of "Gil's crazy kids".

Re: The IDEALOGY Post
As did I but yes, something clearly happened to the original plans. I wonder if they are going to revisit that at all. If they do, I hope they make it clear. Maybe it won't even be "every" kid but certain kids. Maybe it's just the ones that are-or maybe are not?-Harbingers? If, of course, that term means the same thing it did in the original VU.Dr. Solar wrote:I thought that when Gil visited Aram in Egypt in EW #1, Aram had some kids with his Egyptian wife, and they weren't super.xodacia81 wrote:It seems that perhaps something changed from Shooter's original plans. Maybe we can take it a step further.
Some of Eternal Brothers kids did survive and their DNA is what is causing Harbingers.

I was thinking that could be a good origin for (new?) The Immortal Enemy ? or is that a bad idea?

Remind me, was the original Immortal Enemy a person? For some reason I seem to remember it had something to do with the Potter's Field and Judas's 30 silver coins... ???MarrowMan wrote:I was thinking that could be a good origin for (new?) The Immortal Enemy ? or is that a bad idea?
