We all do and I can't think of anyone else on SM either but it's been since 1996 when he last worked on the character.Ryan wrote:he drew the cover and back-up story for the Harbinger HC right? Maybe they can get Bob to do a pin-up or something for a future issue or maybe be a fill-in guy, but for now he is OUT ... sad to say.
I LOVE Bob Hall.

It really seems like they're going with new, 'modern' creators. I really like how everything looks so far, and I think using relevant creators will gain a lot more new readers from the general comic crowd. Too many former creators would feel like a re-tread. I can't wait to see a new take on Shadowman, and I LOVE Bob Hall.

More like Shadowman #19. I think he was just insinuating that since he had a Shadowman cover on his front page maybe he was hinting to something... as far fetched as that it.MarrowMan wrote: Oh, that's Shadowman #43 isn't it? that's like 18 years old.

Re: Bloodshot announced
I don't see how Shadowman being on the banner of his web site is any different than Batman, Armed & Dangerous, and KISS comics also being in the banner. Are those "hints" as well? I don't think so. It's just representations of his work, and Shadowman is probably what he is best known and loved for. Again, over-thinking it!
And I agree that I don't think Bob Hall's artistic style would fit in with the other books seen so far. Although I loved his style. So what I'm holding out hope for is that he will be the writer.
I just looked at his Facebook page and he lists Valiant as his employer. But, is that current? Did he add that when he was working with them on the Harbinger HC? Does he mean the old Valiant and Facebook made the connection to the new Valiant? I don't know. I sent him a friend request and if he accepts, I'll ask him some of those questions directly.
But if Bob Hall is "out" and has nothing to do with the new Shadowman... I will not be excited at all no matter who the creative staff is. I wont go so far as to boycott or even say I won't buy the book. I know I will. I'll give it a shot. I don't expect VEI to assign talent to that book just to please me personally. I do expect that they will have put a lot of time and work and planning into the character. And I'll try to be open minded about it, but I'm so attached to the Bob Hall Shadowman that I don't know how successful I will be. For me, Shadowman is forever and inseparably linked to Bob Hall. Shadowman without Bob Hall is like Van Halen without David Lee Roth. Maybe VEI will find their Sammy Hagar and things will be OK. But I just worry it will be Gary Cherone.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
Re: Bloodshot announced
That site has looked that way for a long time. At least over a year ago. Same thing with employer information ... fyi

Here was the creative team announcement:
written by Duane Swierczynski (Birds of Prey) with art by Arturo Lozzi (Immortal Weapons) and Manuel Garcia (Checkmate)
I don't think I know any of them or their work. Anyone got samples?

Re: Bloodshot announced
I just read this brief preview of the new Bloodshot:
http://blog.newsok.com/nerdage/2012/03/ ... er-launch/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; From writer Duane Swierczynski (Immortal Iron Fist, Birds of Prey) and fan favorite artists Manuel Garcia (Checkmate, Spider-Man: Breakout) & Arturo Lozzi (Immortal Weapons)! Your name is Angelo Mortalli. Your brother is trapped behind enemy lines and on the verge of — no. That’s not right. Your name is Raymond Garrison. You’ve retired from the dangers of the field, but a desperate plea from your oldest friend plunges you into a vicious firefight that — no. That’s not right, either. You are Bloodshot. You are the shade of gray that freedom requires. The perfect confluence of military necessity and cutting-edge technology. A walking WikiLeaks that is a reservoir of dirty secrets that could set the world on fire. And you’ve just been captured.

Highly likely he'd be using an Italian-made sidearm, and that's what it most closely resembles. However, the front end of the trigger guard's too arched; the lanyard loop's far too pronounced; and the bottom of the mags aren't factory-correct. Although on any of those items, they'd be modified or custom, so maybe they're correct, after all. Would've been much more impressive to see those handguns "updated" to something more like an HK P30.Dr. Solar wrote:So, looks like he's holding Berettas. Am I right? Chiclo? Anyone?
Regardless, totally awesome art that I'd love to have a litho of (if not the original), fer sure
