Valiant sleeves and their damaging effects!
What damage, if any, have your books sustained by remaining in their Valiant logo cases? I didn't notice until recently, but I have about 8 books that were in these. They must be slightly taller than the Ultra product that is similar, because now I'm noticing all of these books in Valiant holders are now slightly curved on the top 20%. I have a CEOG that I have to guess is a 9.8+ - EXCEPT for this curve. I broke out my 10x loop that I used to use for sports cards (PSA) and this book has the sharpest corners that I have seen on a Valiant, non-chromium book that I've seen in a looong time.I don't know enough about comic grading to know what the effects of this might be, if any?, to CGC.
I had a number of chromium golds in these Valiant sleeves (XO, Shadowman, XO signed, PSI Lords) and I think they all show faint scratches, despite me trying to remove them carefully.

If they are curved up then it means the comic is excited to see you.ckb wrote:Curved which way?

Picture the plastic holder being about 1/8" taller than everything else, and I guess too tall for the box, which I never noticed. When other boxes stacked on top ... all the comics in Valiant holders flipped back a little - or a lean towards the back.ckb wrote:Curved which way?
Now that I have the comics in normal cardboard/bags, you can't even tell ... but if I open it up and leave the comic out, you might eventually see a slight bow. It is very slight, and will probably be correctly over time of simply being flat. In no way is the spine or colors of the color harmed.
