I think my problem is that my LCS owner is a one man show, so I don't see him closing shop and going to any conventions.jedimarley wrote:Since some of us are getting negitve reaction from our LCS owners, I guess we have no "Shot" of getting one.

He's been pretty enthusiastic about Valiant any time I bring it up, though, even ordered all the HCs.

I just want to know what a "Bloodshot" is. Sounds lethal, and maybe tastydino wrote:Since my private message box blew up about this today I'll post an answer here too! So glad you guys like these, Hunter Gorinson came up with the idea and I'm in love with it!
Here's what we've got planned: We're hosting a small party during the Dallas ComicsPro event this month and serving "Bloodshots" for any retailers that stop by. We had these shot glasses made up for the event as a way to thank comic stores for supporting us. Only a few hundred of these were produced. If anyone wants one check if your local comic store is heading to ComicsPro and ask them to drop by and do a couple shots with us so they can pick one up for you.
I'll post a picture of a group of them soon.

FWIW, I am in NO way trying to hijack this thread, but I just so happened to stumble across a couple of these in my storage unit today, and wondered if anyone else has one:

Something with a red ice ball in a white drink, maybe? And the ice should have something real strong.kevinbastos wrote:Yeah. I could serve those... Maybe a contest for the best recipe!Ryan wrote:I just want to know what a "Bloodshot" is. Sounds lethal, and maybe tasty
So, freeze Tabasco and cranberry juice into ice balls.
Pour Pastis and add cold water until it's all white.
Add the ice ball.
Anyone dare to try it for me?

I've never seen or heard of these. That picture has me drooling, can you tell?
I've never seen these ANYwhere else. Ever.
And beyond what's on the mug front, I see nothing else that indicates an "official" Valiant product. No stamps, logos, copyrights, etc. on the back, bottom or elsewhere. And they didn't originally come with a box, COA, or anything else of the sort; what'cha' see is how it was on the shelf.
IIRC, I got these from one of my LCS' waaaaay back in the day when I was still stationed in Charleston, SC. I believe it was either "Galaxy" or maybe "Hero's". Either way, unfortunately both of them closed up shop not long after the Hack-Lame buyout. Coincidence

All I know is, they were both sitting on the shelf when I walked in the store, and I had to have 'em. They knew it as soon as I walked in the shop, too. I was such a truly die-hard Valiant fan back then (especially Rai and Bloodshot; shocker, I know

I don't have any info beyond that, and I certainly wouldn't want anyone to think they're getting something they're not; whatever that has to mean, since I'm unclear of the actual "origin" beyond where I bought them.

The Mug has the Upperdeck logo used on the cards on the right side of the photo. So Upperdeck must have had these made in conjunction with the card sets?
Either way I've never seen it before.

Funny - I can remember thinking years ago, "They had to change their original site name from valiantcomics.com to valiantfans.com." I was probably one of the goofs who paid WAY too much for a few ebay auctions - or bought a few things there from a few of you guys.
I WISH that I'd spent more time perusing some of the boards - and still don't know WHY I didn't look around at all. Hindsight 20/20, but I'm glad I've re-found it - just before V12.
V12.
Kinda like that. Sorry, Dino.

I agree that it's the image from the cards, but I'd say it's fan-made with one of those "put any image on a coffee mug" companies. There's no "TM vOyager Communications 1993/4/5/6 or Upper Deck" like there would be if it were, as you described.

How long have you had this item Bloodshot? Most of those internet companies that do that were not around back in 1994-95 when Upperdeck put out the last Valiant card set.
We as a group have done more fan made projects than anyone else for Valiant and thats not something I would do at all on it. Just my thoughts.

Greg, didn't you once have some Valiant items available at Cafepress or am I just imagining that? I would think someone could have easily took the art from the front of the Rai #0 card and used it to make a mug at a site like that.
