I must say... when I compare the pics side by side I tend to favor this one a bit more. Its organic AND its tech... a good mix.

Great work! Can you relocate?? LOL

I think this really adds an extra dimension of depth to the original promo pic that was posted. Nice work, sir! Hope this gets you some attention from the right people!

I love what you did with the logo!

Re: X-O the Return (Slight Photoshop Changes -Just for fun)
I gotta admit, I like the first Valiant rendering but I think this "Just for fun" rendition is a bit better. I dunno, I just like it !! And it solves my shoulder pad "issue" !!
I really like it.

Re: X-O the Return (Slight Photoshop Changes -Just for fun)
You guys don't think it puts a little too much emphasis on "the junk", with the shadowy junk-shaped codpiece and an extra outline of junk cut out right above the actual junk?
Seems, oh... I dunno... junk-themed. Perhaps some kind of x-o technology loin cloth would be in order?

The shoulders are awesome, though.

Considering that the armor was originally for an alien, does that mean the aliens have "junk" too???

I would think that it being an alien armor with sentience... that it knows where the wearer needs to be protected the most?
or
It just looks better?

Re: X-O the Return (Slight Photoshop Changes -Just for fun)
AGREED... ya know, I hate to be critical of some of the first views of the new Valiant but "hey", I don't want to be the one to just roll over onto my stomach and bite the pillow just because I am all weak kneed at the prospect of new stories, because that is not going to happen. If one is willing to just accept anything coming off the printing press and call it golden just because you've waited over a decade for these to be back in print, then you are wrong. After this amount of time and consideration, people are expecting things to be right, look right and and and...greg wrote:The shoulders are awesome, though.
I am not going to let my comic-geekness give me rose colored glasses. Besides, it is just one guys opinion (mine).

Re: X-O the Return (Slight Photoshop Changes -Just for fun)
My guess is that the Valiant guys would say, "Well, we don't expect you guys to love everything we're going to do... it's great that the fans have waited so long for Valiant to return, but nothing we do is going to please every fan because fans don't even agree with each other. We're going to do what we think is best for us, for Valiant, for the future. Some of our stuff might be too "childish", some might be too "digital", some might be too "different" when compared to what any given fan might want. Sorry in advance, but we're going to do it our way. Just know this... we love Valiant, too."
But I guess I could be wrong about all that.

Re: X-O the Return (Slight Photoshop Changes -Just for fun)
Me too, I guess that is why I posted what I did. I just get a feeling sometimes that some will go crazy over EVERYTHING just because "VALIANT IS BACK" and I caution against it because the new books will need constructive criticism instead of blind adoration... to me, that is potentially dangerous.greg wrote: Just know this... we love Valiant, too."

I don't think that you are wrong at all. I've gone giddy over the new Atlas Comics but also have the wherewithal to contact Jason Goodman, whom I've befriended, to tell him that the Grim Ghost has good story telling but the art is atrocious IMO.
You can never please all the people all the time... I got that, just sayin'.
