Zelda Skyward Sword. So far it's sweet, can't wait to get off work to play!

Where ya up to? Last I played that, I got up to Kefka's Tower and stopped. I must have beaten that thing 20 times. Great game. Maybe my all time fave.superman-prime wrote:still rpg ing out On final fantasy 3 snes edition o so sweet

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Went a little crazy on holiday deals. Gears 3 showed up today in the mail. Arkham City and AC:Brotherhood (year behind, I know) are now on their way. That will probably keep me busy until Mass Effect 3 hits next year.
Managed to get Arkham City for $28 on a lightning deal tonight, after getting wait listed for it last night. It sold out in under a minute both times it was up.
It's probably for the best that nobody seemed to have Skyrim cheap yet. I'll have more than enough to keep me busy without that little time sink sitting in the house. I guess sticking to my rule of not buying games until the price drops under $40 remains a good idea.

Yeah. Amazon did a good job this year of matching some of the doorbuster prices on new games that many of the big stores were offering. They had most of the major releases from the past month on lightning deals for about $28.Daniel Jackson wrote:Wow, good price for Arkham City.

Even though I didn't get it at that amazing price, I knocked that backend out of the Mr. Freeze level last night.iccarus wrote:Managed to get Arkham City for $28 on a lightning deal

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Finished up Resident Evil 5 last night.
This series is really in need of a serious overhaul. While other shooter style games break new ground, RE decided to stick with the tried and true of the past. It worked in 2005, but using the same play style now is just lazy.
Except for the graphics, I felt like I was playing a last gen game. The restrictions of movement are ridiculous. I can’t believe you still have to stop to shoot a weapon. You can run, but when in the more open areas you feel like you have blinders on. You have to stop to turn your head to look in a new direction (makes certain parts of the game very frustrating). Also, the linear corridor style gets tedious after a while and I almost stopped playing after a couple of levels.
I hope they have some major innovations going on for RE6.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
I've never found it so difficult to decide what to play as I am at the moment. Skyrim, Magic the Gathering 2012 and Lord of the Rings are the ones getting played. I also want to get back to the Witcher 2, Deus Ex and Back to the Future as they were ace and are unfinished... plus I still haven't picked up Arkham City... and then Dec 20th is Old Republic... I may have to quit my job to catch up on my gaming

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
I actually dabbled in Assassin's Creed II last night for about 20 minutes before I got the "turn that Xbox off, come to bed and do me" from my wife. So, while this games evening was cut short I was doing some ASSassinating of my own. This game did not get much attention from me the first time around so I am trying to get SOME of my money out of it now. It sure is nice looking but MAN, you can foul up a mission in a heartbeat. I was able to buy the guide at a bookstore for only $3.50 so that sparked my interest.
I know that I am getting "Rage" for the Xbox 360 for Christmas and seeing how it looks and playing from the recent Rage demo on XBL really got me excited as the game is beautiful, has some decent game play and damn, the car racing is pretty snazzy. The game is one of the best looking games I have seen in a long time.
I am TRYING to get some BF3 and MW3 time in but the perspectives on those seem to make me nauseous after a short time playing them. Gears of War 3 totally takes me to the barf bucket if I start playing it too late. I might need to end up trading that game in which will be disappointed as GoW was my FIRST Xbox 360 game and I've finished that and the second (GoW2) with much enthusiasm.

I played the stress test beta for SW:TOR and absolutely loved it. I was a bit wary going in because I am pretty close minded on what I like. I liked the feel of it overall.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Been playing GTA 4. Rockstar did a good job with the combat/cover system, the variety of cars and huge scope of the city. The one thing that does bother me though is the save feature (or lack thereof). Many of the missions take five minutes or longer to travel to and if you die you have to start all the way back to the beginning of your original travel point. Makes for a lot of wasted time and gets very aggravating. Hard to believe the testers overlooked such an obvious flaw like that.
