Secret Weapons #2 question
Darque wants to set free a demon/entity and wants to know the name.
The entity never reveals their name.
At the end of the issue it shows some panels from Unity/Solar issues.
Could the entity be Mother God (Eric Priece)?

I assumed that is who it was. Was also hoping to see her make a return in the Valiant universe...she was one of the best villains ever.rai4ever wrote:Darque wants to set free a demon/entity and wants to know the name.

Heck Yeah She Was! Kills her alternate universe self - creates a new world in a land where time is forgotten - threatens to uncreate/recreate everything - kicked Solar's @$$ -- and sleeps with her son. Well technically not her real son, but still. Ewwwwww.SJS4 wrote:I assumed that is who it was. It was, but it was actually very understandable and really added to her character. She was an abused child which was one of the reasons she was "evil" to begin with. Its very common was abused children to become abusers themselves. So while it was a bit gross to see that in a comic, the writers used it as a great tool to explain explain the nature of her "evil" without hitting the readers over the head with it.
I have to admit though when I first read the comic (way back when) I didn't quite understand the incest part (in fact I was young enough to not even realize they had an incestuous relationship - I just thought it was a kid that was mad at his mom). It was later when I was older that I understood why they did it and the real impact it had on the story.

Re: Secret Weapons #2 question
I like how you use the quotes around "evil". That's one of the great things about most of the bigger bad guys is that you were never really sure... yeah... they were bad, but it wasn't like earlier villains who were just bad for the sake of being bad. Mother God was always a great villain. It's a shame she couldn't have been more, but at the same time she was a bit too powerful to be roaming around.SJS4 wrote:rai4ever wrote:Sleeps with son..........
