Bah! Hate that Evil Greg guy!greg wrote:Just listened to Episode 60... I must apologize for evil greg... he scanned the original art to Shadowman 27 page 9 and photoshopped a 44 and page 1 on the top. There is no art for Shadowman 44.
Looks like you can expect a redaction next episode.
Hate that evil greg!

Listening now.
What is the next series you'll be reviewing?
Oh wow. I'm listening to the Shadowman rap right now...in a public place and it feels like the the temp in the room just went up twenty degrees. Classic.

We are actually doing a 52 show next. Not sure what Valiant run is next, maybe EW.
As we get closer to the relaunch I think we might do a recap on the entire universe. I'm looking forward to that.

We got an email from a listener pointing out that we never did an in-depth episode just about X-O Manowar. We may visit that sometime soon.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Just a thought here, but did you ever do an episode featuring supporting characters and voting on favorites?
Grampa Rai, Nettie, Neville and characters of that ilk. Just an idea.
Just finished Eternal Warrior and it was decent all the way through. There was one horrible issue as far as editorial wise...within the issue the wrote "Anni-Padda" and "Ani-Padda" which you would think would not happen. "What's this guy's NAME again?" lol

My goal is to make for some fun and in-depth podcast discussion, and talking with these guys has been an absolute blast so far! I can't wait for the day where we can record all in the same location
I nominate my house. We can have the entire OTV crew crash at my place. I'll even make pancakes. The we can go on an EPIC LCS trip.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Great episode. The musical interludes were pretty awesome especially the Shadowman rap.
Although I figured Chiclo may not have liked the art in the last issue knowing his funky taste in comics, but I'm surprised with some of the comments about the art in the last issue looking rushed. I thought it was the best inking work in the run. Yes, the style was a bit different, noirish, if you will, but I don't think it was rushed by any means.
Dr. Solar, I don't recall what your opinion was on the art in the last issue. What say you?
When I talked to Mr. Hall a few months ago, he said he ended it that way in case they wanted to continue on the story with another writer at some point.
I think the "regret" comment may have been Layton for X-O.

I thought it was decent enough, it didn't evoke a strong opinion from me either way.400yrs wrote:Dr. Solar, I don't recall what your opinion was on the art in the last issue. What say you?

So when does the next episode get posted?! You guys are the podcast I think I most anxiously await. Between OTV, Comic Geek Speak, and Bat-Radia, I've become a bit of a comics podcast fiend!

Hopefully I'll get the new episode out this weekend. It was long, I got a lot of editing to do.

Aw, man! I was looking forward to hearing in-depth from all 4 of you guys! I've had a bit of a frustrating end to my week, so I'm ready to have a couple of days of sitting down, zoning out, reading, and listening to music/podcasts.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Oh, and Bee Tee Dubs, you guys are number 1 for me. I really like the other 2 podcasts, but OTV was the 1st podcast I ever listened to on a regular basis and I've gotten attached to you guys, haha! Heck, I even have an attachment to Jonsey and Elveen! Jonsey is a fellow musician and Devin Townsend fan, and Elveen sold me books I was dying to get ahold of at a VERY generous price, and that was when I was really new to the boards, he didn't know me from Adam.Dr. Solar wrote:Woohoo! Thanks, I actually was really looking forward to doing it. In the beginning I was not thinking I would have much to add, but I actually read about 10 of the books and for sure had some stuff to add about the impact on the market.Jersen wrote:Aw, man! Mostly I feel bad because I made a commitment and was unable to honor it. Lord willing, it will be the last time. I really enjoy talking with the dudes. But I am just as excited to hear what they talked about as you are?

Thanks. I've always enjoyed being on the podcast in the past (the Shadowman epi and the various SDCC shows) and even when I became a regular host, the first few times, I sorta still felt like a "junior" host, like a 'Johnny-come-lately", sorta like Scrappy Doo when he joined the Scooby Doo cartoon. But then the last one we recorded (the recent Shadowman one) I felt like a full time host.
I was real bummed to miss this last one. I CAN'T wait for the next one.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Jersen,
Thank you so much for the kind words, bro
It is honestly a dream come true to not only be featured as a co-host on a comic book podcast, but one that I was equally a fan of in the beginning as well
Also, to Elveen:
Dude, your presence on the show has been AWESOME so far! I found it interesting to read your comments about you feeling like the "junior" host; I have equally felt those same feelings...hahahaha.
I guess it just proves that we're all doing a fantastic job on the show! I can't wait to shoot the $#!t with you guys again in the coming week(s)
Only The Valiant has filled a void in me that has been there for years; a void now filled by the excitement of being a comic book fan again, and being able to give back to the comic book community in a way too
WOO HOO!!!!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words, bro

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Hi all,
This is my first post on VF.com, as I've been just lurking and reading everything for about a month now. I discovered the Podcast on here, and I've already listened to all 60 episodes between home, my work commute, and excercising, in the past few weeks.
You guys are great, and I look forward to hearing even more. As a result of finding this website and listening to the podcasts, I've found pretty much all of the pre-Unity Valiants in my area in the past month, which I could never even think to afford back in 1992 when I was 12 years old. Have a few Harbingers to pick-up and I'll be able to read everything up to Unity straight through.
Anyways, thanks for everything you guys do, and thanks to ZWH, even if he's no longer part of the show. I've enjoyed the ride the past few weeks, and will keep the subscription on in iTunes for the future.
